🚨 BUSINESS WARNING & SCAM ALERT 🚨
Please protect yourselves, your pockets, and your businesses, because Facebook’s support system definitely won't do it for you!
I recently reported a clear scammer targeting my page. This account used a completely fake, Photoshopped "Venmo" error message to try and trick me into giving out my private email address, all while attempting to pull a fast one.
When I reported the account and the photo to Facebook to protect our community, this was their official response: "We found that the content doesn't go against our Community Standards." 🙄
Swipe through the screenshots to see:
1️⃣ Facebook telling me a blatant scam doesn't violate their rules.
2️⃣ How I handle scammers who try to play with my business (always check the email address I gave them! 😂).
3️⃣ The fake "Payment Declined" popup they are sending people to fish for data.
The Moral of the Story: Facebook doesn't care about protecting small businesses from these scammers, so we have to protect each other.
To my fellow business owners: Never give out your email address for a Venmo/CashApp payment confirmation. If they say a payment is "declined" on their end but ask for your data, it's a scam.
To my amazing clients: If you ever receive a sketchy message or see weird comments that don't sound like me, do not engage. Reach out to me directly!
Stay safe, stay vigilant, and don't let these people play with your hard-earned money! 💯💪🏽
