JODI IMMS – GREATGOURDS

Jodi uses a wide variety of techniques such as carving, painting, burning and dying
to transform the gourds into decorative pieces
This year, Jodi will introduce “Thunder Gourds” to the MIC show!
Thunder Gourds are created by cutting the bottom off, cleaning the insides and
then attaching a “skin” to the bottom. A flexible spring is threaded from inside the
gourd to the center of the skin. When the gourd is shaken, sound waves are
created that mimic the sound of thunder!
