A painting I'm working on. This one is to regale the bison as chief of the gentle (as in herbivore) beasts of North America. This noble and sacred source of abundance was at one time nearly extinct due to efforts in a war which was an attempted genocide by oppressive powers at the time of the Indian decline and reservation establishment at the hands of the U.S government. Policies placed during this time are inhumane and ongoing oppression of the native indigenous people and culture inclusive of this, the pillage, plunder/ murder of this noble icon of the West. Let's make the West Western again the West in it's way of natural law and pre colonized lifestyle known, and celebrate the bison. Wakan Tanka, grandfather of the hoof people.
