Sneak peek 👀

Join us tomorrow, Aug 21 from 6-8pm for the opening receptions of both "FEVER" by Todd Kunkler and "Security Blanket" by a group of collaborative quilters!

About the exhibitions:

As screens mediate more and more of our lives, the world becomes oversaturated with images, abstracted by its own frenetic representation. FEVER, an exhibtion of oil paintings and interactive digital media by multidisciplinary artist Todd Kunkler (winner of 2025’s Golden Ticket Juried Exhibition), exposes the strange new tensions and anxieties resulting from the rapid mediatization of everyday life.

Security Blanket is a collaborative quilt project exploring the broader social fabric surrounding women’s rights, bodily autonomy, and collective care. Structured as an alphabetical patchwork of concerns — from healthcare and childcare to housing, safety, labor, and reproductive freedom — the quilt invites viewers into conversation around the interconnected systems that shape the lives of women and families.

New for Golden Ticket 17: Celebration of Installations

We’re introducing a new $500 Installation Award to celebrate ambitious, site-responsive work that engages the architecture of CCAC in unexpected ways.

Rather than limiting artwork to the gallery walls, we invite artists to consider the entire building as a creative canvas. Stairwells, hallways, windows, rooftops, rafters, bathrooms, and other overlooked spaces are all fair game. We encourage proposals that respond to the unique character of these environments, transforming the building itself into part of the exhibition experience.

Installation submissions are also exempt from the exhibition entry fee, inspired by our commitment to encouraging experimentation and expanding the ways artists engage with the space.

Up to three images plus a written summary for each installation proposal will be accepted.

Upcoming Program: Paper Quilt Workshop

🧵 Make a square. Add your voice.

In conjunction with Security Blanket (on display in CCAC's Schmidlapp Lobby August 21-September 18), a collaborative women’s art project that stitches together a broad range of issues affecting women and families, we’re inviting you to help us create a paper quilt of our own.

Join us for a hands-on workshop where we’ll create individual paper quilt squares inspired by the themes, experiences, concerns, and hopes that connect us. Like Security Blanket, the finished work will bring many individual voices together into something larger.

No sewing experience necessary—just bring your creativity, curiosity, and perspective.

Saturdays in the Park: Jump ‘n Jive Big Band

Join us on Saturday, Aug 15 at Inwood Park for a musical morning 🎶

Jump ‘n’ Jive Big Band is one of the area’s great swinging bands with updated music for all ages! Our performances are packed with hits you are sure to enjoy. With swingin’ arrangements, the band generates energy and enjoyment everywhere they perform. Maybe you will even grab your partner and start dancing! We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, comprised of 22 professional musicians (saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and full rhythm section – drums, bass, guitar, piano) as well as conductor & singers. The band members donate their time and talents toward providing scholarship to 3 local universities. Jump ‘n’ Jive Big Band was founded in 2008 by Jerry Beck. Sadly, Jerry passed away in 2018. The band is now led by Tod Steen.
