Seven Hills Baroque Cincinnati, Ohio, 🇺🇸 | sharing the beauty and intrigue of historical performance with audiences everywhere! 🎶
25-26 Season: “Chamber Reflections”🎻🪞

Seven Hills Baroque (7HB) enriches the Greater Cincinnati musical landscape with performances of Baroque and early Classical masterpieces on period instruments. Founded in the summer of 2020 by mezzo-soprano Lauren McAllister, oboist Brian Lyons, cellist Dr. Joshua Bermudez, and harpsichordist Dr. Michael Delfín, 7HB is the proud recipient of a CCMpower grant, and is Cincinnati’s leading historica

l performance ensemble.

7HB’s ensemble members and guests are prizewinning artists in musical genres ranging from medieval to modern, and hail from every geographical region of the United States. 7HB’s members consider it extremely fortunate that their paths crossed in Cincinnati, and are relentlessly united in their vision to share the intrigue and beauty of historical performance with audiences everywhere. Integral to 7HB’s mission is a commitment to educating young audiences, and using concerts to enact lasting change for the benefit of the Greater Cincinnati community. 7HB has presented outreach programs in Cincinnati schools including Winton Woods High School, East Walnut Hills High School, Cincinnati Waldorf School, and Anderson High School. Beginning in 2023, and continuing indefinitely, 7HB will give a percentage of donations collected at every concert to a local charity, and with limited exceptions, 7HB concerts are free and open to the public.

7HB invites you to explore our site, follow us on social media, and of course, we invite you to attend our exciting performances. We hope to see you at a concert soon!

And the last-but not least-artist feature for Sunday is Lindsey Tootle, Baroque violin!

Baroque violinist Lindsey Tootle appears as a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborator across the U.S., including performances with Seven Hills Baroque (7HB), Harmonie Universelle, members of the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra and New Trinity Baroque, and the Bach Ensemble at St. Thomas alongside musicians of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

Based in Cincinnati and originally from Huntsville, Alabama, Lindsey serves as the principal Baroque violinist and a leader with 7HB. In 2024, she co-founded Bama Baroque and launched the Southeastern Early Music Community (SEMC), helping connect performers across the region. She also serves on Early Music America’s Emerging Professional Leadership Council.

A lifelong devotee of early music since first hearing Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 as a child, Lindsey is known for her dynamic yet informed interpretations of early music, along with a memorable presence on stage and a “storytelling” approach to her concerts. She loves building community through performance, teaching, collaborations, and creative programming.

Featuring the second of our three performers for Sunday: Josh Bermudez, Baroque cello!

Dr. Joshua Bermudez has been passionate about classical music since he can remember. Although his undergraduate degree was in business, he remained highly active in music throughout college. He studied cello with the late Dr. James Stroud, played in university and local orchestras, established his school’s official string quartet, and produced a daily classical music radio show. After graduation, he formed a chamber ensemble, Con Brio which performed yearly concerts in the Chattanooga, TN area. Dr. Bermudez completed a master’s degree in Musicology at the University of Maryland before completing a second master’s degree in cello performance, studying with Benjamin Karp at the University of Kentucky. There he performed with the Niles String Quartet, was co-principal of the UK Symphony Orchestra, and was a substitute cellist in the Lexington Philharmonic.

Dr. Bermudez recently completed his doctoral degree at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Ilya Finkelshteyn, principal cellist of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Bermudez is cofounder and president of the historically-informed ensemble Seven Hills Baroque.
