PNC Park ✅ ⚾ 🏟️
Many of you have commented on my "bougie" experience . Well I save up for particular experiences. Especially to take my grown son. I've seen over 1500 baseball games and sometimes I want different and more luxury experiences. This is just a different time in my life. I've sat in plenty of bleacher seats. This is an OPINION and experiences I look for. I'm a chef, and I travel extensively. I do not discount anyone's opinion either. Just from a difference perspective that's all. Didn't mean to sound elitist just looking for different things than others. We all share and love baseball⚾ ❤️.
There are pros and cons to this park. It's nice but it's not going to be my favorite. And it came down to the tour and amenities honestly. We went to two games and took a tour to get different experiences and teams.
🇺🇸A very special mention to the Pittsburgh Pirates for the way they ask every veteran that's served to stand up and be recognized. I'm a veteran and this should be a tradition at every park. Thank you City of Pittsburgh and the Pirates organization.
Game 1. Day game. Mariners. Club seats Section 220 aisle
Pro:
⚾ Air conditioning and Great bathrooms.
⚾ Great view of the city from the seats.
⚾ Separate entrance for club.
⚾ Kinda cool pool tables and lounge like vibe.
⚾ Best usher Dan in any park I've been to. He was the best and even had sunscreen in his bag for me! Also so enthusiastic he made me smile on the inside too!
Cons:
⚾ No food included or option. Some parks have several options with food included. Pirates have two club options and none that are all inclusive. I find this very strange. Expensive for what it was.
⚾ You cannot see the game from inside and no live broadcast to watch if you're inside. Replays only and spotty.
Game 2: Night game. Cincinnati Reds . Visitors dugout seats front row behind the Reds. Section 11 seats 7.8
Pro:
⚾ Excellent interaction with players
⚾ Fans were mostly nice and asked to take a lot of pictures with me. I'm not sure it would be the same if I weren't dressed to the pinup hilt like I usually am.
⚾ Almost field like atmosphere
⚾ Stadium chaser Gary Jensen who is an usher in section 121 and took the time to sort out Reds baseball cards and bring a bag of them for my son! So thoughtful.
⚾ Happy hour Friday nights off pre game drinks are half price. This is HUGE AND AWESOME!! Shout out to Tracy in the crows nest for the BEST ATTITUDE and service!!
Cons:
⚾ Pittsburgh fans disrespect their dugouts! They put their feet up, drinks and phones and snacks on the top of the dugouts. I find this weird and disrespectful. Eek!! One time an usher came down and asked them to take a drink down but that's it!
⚾ Verandas around vendors are very dark. Didn't find it inviting.
⚾ Walking down the roundabout in center field was treacherous and super slow after the game
PNC Stadium Tour: 3pm pregame Friday
UPDATE: I did NOT read the afternoon tour experience and what we wouldn't see and that's MY FAULT.
Pros:
⚾ Nice tour guide, although from Philly but has only done this 3 years and wasn't as enthusiastic as I've seen tour guides. I asked him several questions about the building he couldn't answer.
⚾ Highlights were the legacy room which just opened up this week and the history pointed out.
⚾ After the tour you could stay in the stadium and watch batting practice
Cons:
⚾ The only area we saw you couldn't see as public was the 200 level club. No tunnel, no home plate club, no press room, no dugouts.
VERY disappointed and expensive for not seeing ANY of these areas. I would NEVER do this pregame again. I may feel different if had taken the morning tour.
⚾ No water offered and no options to even buy anything for an entire hour after the tour ended and Gates opened. This was ridiculous.
⚾ Guide walked too fast and didn't project to hear his points or wait for
⚾ This was barely a tour honestly. A mini history lesson but that's it. Would not recommend.
Overall, we had a LOVELY time in Pittsburgh. A great walking city. A stadium that's beautifully situated on the River.
