Some things are worth repeating… especially when they involve beetles that play dead. 👀

We’re bringing our Blue Death Feigning Beetles back to your feed!

These little ambassadors get their name from one of their coolest defense mechanisms: when they feel threatened, they can completely freeze and “play dead” in hopes that a predator loses interest. And they’re committed to the performance, they can keep the act going for several hours!

And that blue color? A waxy coating helps them retain moisture in the dry desert environments they’re adapted to.

Small ambassador. Very cool adaptations.

We’re heading back to Kenwood Theatre on September 2nd at 7 PM for Jurassic World: An Interactive Experience!

This isn’t your average movie night. Our dinosaur ambassadors will make appearances throughout the film, bringing some of those Jurassic World moments off the screen and into the theater. 👀

We’re officially ONE WEEK away from our next Night Hike! 🌙🔦

Join us at Gorman Heritage Farm on Wednesday, August 26 at 8 PM as we explore the farm after dark in search of salamanders, frogs, snakes, and other nighttime wildlife.

You never know what we might find along the way! Then, we’ll end the night around the campfire with s’mores and talk about some of the wildlife we encountered throughout the evening.

Turns out working with dinosaurs doesn’t automatically make you good at spelling their names. 😂🦖

We put the Dino Buddies team to the test with a little dinosaur spelling bee, and the first three came prepared. Kass and James… well, not so much.

But they work hard, they know their dinosaurs, and they’re pretty great at what they do, so we’ve decided they’re allowed to use autocorrect from here on out. 😂

How many of these dinosaur names could YOU spell without a little help? 👀

🐾🦖 PAW Patrol + Dino Buddies = a pretty great Sunday!

We had so much fun hanging out at Kenwood Theatre yesterday for PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie! Our dinosaurs got to meet so many PAW Patrol fans before and after the movie, pose for plenty of pictures, and make some new prehistoric friends along the way.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hi, meet the dinos, and spend part of their Sunday with us and a big thank you to Kenwood Theatre for having us!

But the dino fun at Kenwood isn’t over just yet… 👀🦖

Tomorrow is the day! 🐾🦖

We’re heading back to the Kenwood Theatre tomorrow, August 16, for Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie!

Dino Buddies will be there from 10 AM–3 PM with our dinosaurs out before and after the movie for photos, prehistoric fun, and plenty of chances to say hello.

If you’ve got a Paw Patrol fan or a dinosaur fan at home, come spend part of your Saturday with us!

There’s always more to explore at a Dino Buddies program! 🦖🔎

Along with meeting our dinosaur ambassadors, guests can get an up-close look at our display table filled with fossils, replicas, dinosaur models, and plenty of other prehistoric finds.

Pictured here are just a few of our real prehistoric teeth, including teeth from Triceratops and Spinosaurus, but there’s so much more to discover when you visit us!

Our display table gives guests the chance to take a closer look at pieces of prehistoric history and ask all the questions that come along with them.

Meet Mackenzie! 🦖

Mackenzie joined the Dino Buddies team this summer while home from Coastal Carolina University, where she is studying Marine Biology.

Throughout one of our busiest summers yet, she jumped right in as a dino wrangler and wildlife educator! Traveling to programs, working with our ambassadors, connecting with kids, and bringing such a great energy to our team.

As summer starts to wind down and Mackenzie gets ready to head back to school, we want to give her a HUGE thank you for everything she brought to Dino Buddies this season! 💚

We loved having you as part of the team, Mackenzie, and we hope this isn’t the last time you trade marine life for dinosaurs. 😉🦖🌊

After a summer full of programs and plenty of first-time snake holders, we can confirm that we still hear this one all the time:

“Wait… they’re not slimy?!”

Nope! Reptiles have dry scales, and one of our favorite parts of an encounter is watching someone realize that an animal they may have been unsure about is completely different from what they expected.

Sometimes all it takes is one experience to turn uncertainty into curiosity. 💚

So yes, we’re bringing this myth back because it’s definitely worth repeating!
