That’s 89 people who believe that We are the Common Folk, and the Common Folk deserve Joy - folks who want to see an ethically produced, accessible, community-centered renaissance faire come to life right here in the city of Chicago. Year One of Faire in the Field was an amazing, joyful, exhausting, exhilarating day. We hosted 30 vendors, 20 performers, a LARP arena, a Junior Joust, and a Fairy encampment. We are honored to have welcomed over 2000 attendees - and all we heard all day was “we want more!”. We’re ready to bring it to you. We’re so close to hitting 33% funded, or $10,000! That will be a big milestone for our Kickstarter, but we need your pledges to get there! We’ve gotten so much social media support on our launch - hundreds of likes, shares, favorites, saves, and follows - let’s turn that into pledges! Our lowest priced reward tier is just $5! We hit 25% of our goal and 60 backers in two days! We're on our way to making Year Two a reality! Thank you to everyone who has made a pledge, checked us out, and shared our Kickstarter with others. It means the world.

We believe in this Faire. We've heard from so many people that they loved it, that they can't wait for us to do it again, and that they can't wait for us grow. We can't wait either! But after fully self-funding the first one by saving up for years to do it, we need support. Thank you those who have given already. We are filled with deep gratitude that you find us worthy. We fully self-funded Year One after saving up our money for years. We just can't afford to self-fund again. You asked, we’re answering: launching our Kickstarter for Faire in the Field Year Two! We had an amazing day on Saturday, and it’s been incredible to receive all of your feedback on what you want next time. The resounding call has been “give us more!” - and we want to bring more to you! This year, we (Matthew, Patrick, and Lydia) self-funded the Faire after years of saving up our own income to make it come to life. As much as we’d love to, we just can’t afford to do that twice. But if enough of us have $5, $10, $20, $100, or more, to spare, we can bring it to life again together. Year Two very likely won’t be free again, but we’re committed to keeping the Faire as financially accessible as possible so that as many people who want to come are able to do so. We all took a risk together on Saturday and it was an incredible, joyful day. Let’s see what we can create again together!

Faire in the Field year one is in the books! Seeing all of our hard work come to life was the most gratifying, incredible, and exhausting experience of our lives so far. We are SO grateful to everyone who showed up, who took a risk on their time and energy to be here with us, and especially to those who stuck it out in line to come check us out and see what we had to offer. It is our hope that we can do this again, and will keep you updated about what it will take to make that happen. For now, let us know in the comments what your favorite part of the day was!
