THE SCARLET "S" is a theatre piece and extended community project about the intersection of sexuality, shame, and consent -- or lack thereof -- in our world of bitch cups and dick pics. It's about how we brand young women with SHAME -- for being sexual, for "transgressing," for

presuming their bodies and choices will be respected and safe. It is about "slut". It is about r**e. It is about alcohol. It is about su***de. It is about "shouldn't." It is about Rehtaeh Parsons, Daisy Coleman, Audrie Pott, and Jane Doe of Stuebenville. As artists, community members, & activists we must ask: What now? Started in 2014 by Alyssa Vera Ramos & Cathy Muskett, THE SCARLET "S" encompasses devised playmaking, youth workshops, creative community conversations (based in civic practice methods), and a large-scale social media campaign about the issues of consent, hostile masculinity, "slut"-shaming, cyberbullying and sexual assault.
