This acceptance letter was the start of a new chapter in my career. ❤️

If you’re a Filipino nurse dreaming of earning a master’s degree in the U.S., here’s a simple roadmap:

✅ Earn your BSN.
✅ Pass the NCLEX and obtain your RN license.
✅ Gain bedside nursing experience (many NP programs prefer at least 1–2 years).
✅ Research universities that fit your goals and budget.
✅ Prepare your requirements—transcripts, RN license, résumé, recommendation letters, and personal statement.
✅ Submit your application and wait for that acceptance email that could change your life.

It may seem overwhelming at first, but take it one step at a time. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin.

A master’s degree can open doors to leadership roles, education, administration, advanced practice nursing (such as becoming a Nurse Practitioner), and higher earning potential in the U.S.

I started with one application, one acceptance letter, and one decision to believe in myself. If you’re thinking about taking the next step, let this be your sign. Your future patients—and your future self—will thank you.

Bank of America 13.1 Chicago race 2026 was a different kind of finish line—I wasn’t wearing a race bib. ❤️

For the first time, I volunteered at the Bank of America 13.1 Chicago race, and it was one of the most fulfilling experiences I’ve had.

Here in the U.S., thousands of volunteers make every race possible. They hand out water, cheer for runners, give directions, keep everyone safe, and celebrate every finisher. Without them, there would be no race.

Volunteering isn’t just about giving your time. You get to:
🏅 Be part of a major running event—even if you’re not racing.
🤝 Meet amazing people who share the same passion for fitness.
💙 Give back to the running community.
😊 Experience the joy of helping someone reach their finish line.

I hope race organizers in Iloilo and around the Philippines continue to grow this culture of volunteerism. A strong running community isn’t built by runners alone—it also takes people willing to serve behind the scenes.

The medal wasn’t for finishing a race. It was for helping others finish theirs. And that feels just as rewarding. 🫶
