Lil Durk's high-profile federal trial is officially set to begin next week, with jury selection scheduled for August 20 in Los Angeles👀

Prosecutors reportedly say they are prepared to call 35 witnesses, with 20 of them expected to provide key information in the case. They have also asked the judge to keep their witness list sealed ahead of trial.

In another major development, U.S. District Judge Michael Fitzgerald ruled that Durk's 2021 song "PMO" and its music video can be presented as evidence. Prosecutors argue the song supports their theory that Durk sought retaliation for the 2020 k
—ling of King Von and was willing to finance violence. The defense has argued that the song references multiple traumatic events in Durk's life and should not be treated as a literal confession.

The government is also reportedly still attempting to access data from a phone seized from Durk. Reports from the latest proceedings say prosecutors currently have only four screenshots from the device because they do not have the password needed to access the full contents.
