The gods spoke to me

But I was afraid to answer
Afraid what might happen if I let go
Afraid I might float away

And what of duty?
And responsibility?
What of them?

Weights with which I weigh myself down
Afraid to find out
Whether I can fly

How terrifying that would be
How wonderful
How tragic

So much would be lost
But then again
I would have gained the world
