Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, Banchan's musical approach isn’t one you might typically expect from someone so deeply immersed in its rich electronic heritage. Whilst still drawing inspiration from his Chicago roots, Banchan amalgamates this with a nostalgic nod to the early 90’s rave scene combining articulate breakbeats and layered textures with his own unique modern-day studio techniques.

‘Tiger Eye’ is out today! I really enjoyed writing and producing this one. It started as a pretty chaotic melody, first performed during my live set 3 years ago, but it changed many times throughout the years until the melody and percussions were super simplified. Finally nailed the lead and recorded it with my fave synth of all time - the SH101.

Yes, I used a hyphen. No, I didn’t use Ai to write this 🐯

With constant peak time “bangers” being released all following a similar arrangement formula, with the same sounding tracks being played by the same people, I just wanted to make something different. This isn’t about the numbers. This isn’t about what works in a club system. This is about making music that I enjoy listening to, and I hope you do as well.
