Illinois High School Dance Festival The IHSDF is an annual gathering of HS dancers who participate in an exciting day of 4 master classes.

The Illinois High School Dance Festival is an annual gathering of high school dancers and their teachers. This exciting day of dance includes four master classes, a professional company performance, and a student choreography showcase. High school students from Illinois are given the opportunity to take class with some of Chicago's premiere teachers, choreographers and performers. Teachers are abl

e to network, enhance lesson plans through class participation and also enjoy two fabulous dance concerts alongside their students. The Festival provides a dance intensive experience with many styles of dance. Students and teachers are able to share this day with their peers throughout the state in an effort to create connections, to learn through similarities and differences in our programs and to simply appreciate the art of dance!

2020 will mark our 42nd Annual Illinois High School Dance Festival!

We are officially in the final countdown. If you want to be part of the magic at this year’s IHS Dance Festival, you need to move fast!
⚠️ REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 4 PM.
Important Note for Students: Registration must be completed by an educator on behalf of their school. Individual student self-registrations cannot be accepted, so make sure your teacher has everything submitted before the cutoff!

What an incredible day at the Illinois High School Dance Festival! We were thrilled to host over 500 students this weekend, showcasing amazing talent, artistry, perseverance, connection, and pure joy. 💖
Thank you to every school that attended!

A huge thank you to New Trier High School for being such amazing hosts! The fabulous opening performance by Kinesis, your fantastic facilities, and the extra effort and time put in by the New Trier students and staff were truly wonderful and did not go unnoticed. We appreciate every detail. 👏 .dance.company

And a special shout-out to our inspiring master class instructors, Performance Companies and all the participating colleges for sharing their wisdom and connecting with students. Thank you all for making the day unforgettable! 💫
