According to AllHipHop, the estate of Ol’ Dirty Bastard has launched a sweeping federal lawsuit targeting online counterfeiters accused of selling unauthorized merchandise bearing his name and image.

The estate claims that the online sellers have been “knowingly and willfully” offering bootleg ODB-branded products without any legal right.

“These sellers are exploiting the late rapper’s legacy for profit,” the complaint states, adding that the defendants created a “sophisticated web of counterfeit storefronts” that mimic legitimate outlets. The lawsuit argues the knockoff goods, including clothing, posters and action figures, cause “irreparable harm” by confusing buyers and weakening the value of ODB’s brand.

The estate is seeking up to $2 million in statutory damages per trademark violation and is asking the court for an immediate injunction to stop all the infringing sales.
