This one I really pushed how tall I could make the sculpture. I had to put my shelf right on the floor of the kiln to get it in. It broke a little with all the movement of the leaves during firing. It was a good lesson in what I could get by with and what needs support.

I made this around Christmas. The kids were home and we were hanging out in the studio watching Cheers and chatting. I had started attaching extruded clay tubs to a base. I didn’t have a direction. I was just playing. I decided to add my wall flowers to the ends of the tubes and ended up staying up way too late bring it all together. It’s definitely weird, but a super fun new direction.

Wow, time flys! I think it has been six years since these black flowers have seem the light of day or a cleaning! I stopped doing art fairs in 2020 and these got packed up on a shelf. I’m continuing the quest to fight the hoard. I’ll be letting these go this weekend in my first open studio in over 2 years. 11-4 Sat

I’ve been working on a some sculptures this winter that I’ve been keeping under wraps. It takes a while to work through the ideas and start fine tuning. I’m about 6 versions in and they keep getting better. More coming soon!
