Permission to Fail: Asian American Arts in Progress was completely SOLD OUT at the last October 19th! Thank you to everyone who came to support our AAPI artists as they shared unfinished work across film, writing, dance, theatre, and fine art.

This is what community looks like - artists given permission to be imperfect, to experiment, to grow. No pressure for the “A+”we’ve been taught to chase. Just authentic creativity in progress.  🎭✨

Introducing our January Artist Highlight! ✨

Meet Marie Molina - the Filipina comedian who’s giving Chicago audiences permission to laugh at the messy, rated-R truth about love. 💛

After three years at Second City and iO as a 2025 Victor Wong Fellow, Marie isn’t here for stories that play it safe. Her brand new musical “The Truth About Love”is bold, blunt, and exactly what theater needs right now.

👉 Swipe to learn more about Marie’s journey, her work, and what’s next!

Follow her at and catch her next show. Want to be featured as AAAC’s Artist Highlight? Submit at our link in bio.

What a year! 🎉

2025 was the year AAPI artists in Chicago made WAVES. Thank you for being part of this movement.

From AAPI Affinity Night to Cultural Conversations, Mosaic 2025 to Permission to Fail, and Dare to Connect - every event brought our community together to celebrate creativity, connection, and courage.

Artists shared unfinished work. Storytellers opened up conversations. Our community showed up, again and again.

👉 Swipe through to relive the highlights!

To our artists: thank you for your vulnerability and vision.

To our supporters: thank you for showing up and believing in this work.

To our community: thank you for making this all possible.

Here’s to more art, more courage, more community in 2026! 🌟

Mark your calendars 🗓️
