Doc and Joseph would like to welcome all of our new followers from the Gundam Assemble page. We are in the process of cleaning up the wings and the Aile Striker Pack on the Skygrasper.

Here at DnJ’s, it’s not just mini painting for us, we currently play a variety of games, including Gundam Card Game, Godzilla Card Game, Grand Archive TCG, Marvel Crisis Protocol and our current favorite game The Lord of the Rings: Fate of the Fellowship

So … the Launcher Strike turned out decently, and we got a huge jump on getting the Skygrasper off to a good start.

On top of painting Gundams, we became interested in another card game. Well, truth be told, we became interested in Grand Archive TCG at Gen Con when we met Maindeck. Dan and Red Zone Rogue both cover Grand Archive on their respective YouTube channels. DnJ’s love Red Zone Rogue’s Gundam Card Game content!

And wouldn’t you know it … no one in Birmingham carries Grand Archive. Godzilla Card Game is a ditto on that front. Oh well, we are off to learn how to play Grand Archive ❤️❤️❤️

Kira Yamato … Launcher Strike … TAKING OFF !!!

Finally, we are finished with the Launcher Strike for Bandai’s soon to be released game Gundam Assemble. The Launcher Strike was painted exclusively with Monument Hobbies Pro Acryl and AMP paints, Pro Sable brushes and Pro Synthetic dry brushes.

This was Doc’s first time trying to freehand a specific object, in this case, the Archangel. It’s not so great. What is important is that we tried, it looks ok, and we will try more freehanding in the very near future!!!

Wednesday afternoon G Generation Gundam Card Game for DnJ’s ❤️❤️❤️

No, still not finished. We need to repaint the BFG to the green and yellow shades of the shoulder launcher, the Archangel needs a couple of areas highlighted, along with some highlight placement adjustments, then the star field needs to go on the base.

The Archangel ended up being more of a caricature of how it is depicted in the series Mobile Suit Gundam Seed. That’s ok, it’s a miss. We are NOT discouraged though. We definitely want to try more “freehanding” on bases!!!!!

That’s as far as we’re gonna get on the Archangel and the rest of the Launcher Strike’s base. We know it isn’t great, however, we ARE putting in the effort!!

Now we’re getting somewhere.

From Doc: “ I’m sorry y’all, however, this base may take a bit. I’ve never tried something to this extent before, haven’t watched any videos, and I’m just hacking away at it using glazing techniques learned from Vince Venturella and Louise/Rogue Hobbies. It’s a lot of fun putting what I’ve learned to a slightly different use … trying to make 2D look nearly 3D”

We’ve never attempted such a freehand item … ever. It’s going ok, Doc supposes. 63 year old hands aren’t always the steadiest 😞
