Lodge Treks are Back!

After an incredible first year, we are extremely excited to announce the second annual Lodge Trek program at Philmont Scout Ranch!

From July 4–14, 2027, 10 selected lodges will take on a 10-day, 9-night Philmont adventure focused on brotherhood, leadership development, personal growth, and the full backcountry experience. Each lodge crew will include 2 advisers (21+) and 6–8 youth.

An email containing all of the important details and interest form has been sent to each lodges’ key 3.

Some pictures from the 2026 Section E15 I Order of the Arrow, BSA conclave held at Camp Scouthaven a few weeks ago.

6 Range and Target ranges open, horseback riding, pontoon boat rides, yard games, fishing, amazing food, fun and great fellowship just to name a few things we all got to experience at Camp.

We are looking forward to visiting Camp Tuscarora on August 20-22, 2027 for the next conclave.

Our Southern Hills Chapter had a successful hike to our namesake, the eternal flame 🔥, at Chestnut Ridge Park. We hiked 2 miles with about 1,000 feet of vertical. Congratulations 🎊 👏 to the Southern Hills Chapter leaders for planning out the hike, and thank you to those who attended!

This week we are deeply saddened to hear the news that Vigil Honor member Wayne Ames passed away. Wayne was a dedicated Scouter, and a Vigil Honor member from back in the 90s.

Please extend our heartfelt sympathies to Wayne's family, if you have the chance to speak with them.

Let's do our best to get out to support Wayne's family at his wake.

Of Angola, NY, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Autumn View Health Care Facility; he was 79. Beloved wife of Sharon Ames. Loving father of Julie Ames, Wayne “Champ” (Theresa) Ames, and Robert Ames. Brother of the late Arthur, Robert, and Patricia Ames. Cherished grandfather of Jared Ames. Friends may call Sunday from 2 PM- 6 PM at the ADDISON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 262 N. Main St., Angola, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM in Most Precious Blood Church. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Wayne spent over 40 Years as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America and was the founding father of Boy Scout Troop 421, in 1993 out of St. Anthony’s Church. He was also a member of the Knights of St. John. Interment will be in the First Church of Evans Cemetery.
