After growing up with a Father and Uncle obsessed with all things aviation, my first sim experience was in a chair with rudder pedals, Thrustmaster controls and a Fresnel lens across the 17” CRT monitor and Aces Over the Pacific. That sim belonging to my Uncle who never did anything half-ass... fast forward 40+years to my home, and 6’x6’x8’ enclosure complete with 3 x 55” LCD, Geko Systems Motion G-Chair, Force Feedback yoke...PilotEdge, the list goes on. Certainly would give anything if Pop and Ol’ Unc’ Snuffy could be around to take a few in the pattern. A constant work in progress, once all hand-cut, routed, and assembled is now augmented with the use of (now 3) 3d printers and a CNC machine- dashboard version 4.0 will be the best one yet by far. I created (with some ClaudeAI kungfu) a Wideview network app alternative for FS'24! I was tired of fighting low network throughput from the master system over the standard TCP/IP stack. This app uses UDP multicast instead, where a dead-reckoning prediction engine interpolates between packets at the render frame rate and writes the predicted camera position to MSFS. It has changed my entire sim experience!
There are two versions: a sim-connect-based version (phase1) that worked well, and phase2 uses a WASM gauge and significantly increases packets per second with zero drops.
The video shows both versions side by side over the test route.
