⚡MEET A LOCAL ARTIST! $oho is a Charlotte, North Carolina-based mixed media artist who works primarily with acrylic paint and oil pastels. Though an artist his entire life, he began painting in 2021 and is now creating out of . His days are spent immersed in self-discovery, reflection, and adaptation— an ever-evolving creative process. "It keeps art fresh for me, like I'm a child given a new toy."

uses Afro-Surrealism to share the typically surreal nature of the Black experience. Where the horror of history—like the transformation of kings into slaves—is intertwined with resilience, heroism, and even moments of humor. $oho immortalizes these stories in colorful and evocative displays that demand to be seen.

MEET A LOCAL ARTIST✨
is a full-time artist based in the Charlotte area since 2013. Pam is a former public educator that now identifies as a teaching artist, helping others discover the joys of artmaking.

Pam has a passion for bringing the community together through public art. I was honored last fall to add my brushstrokes to a community footpath mural she put together in Elizabeth. She also has murals at Luminous Lane and on Tryon St, and created public art installations for Charlotte Shout in 2022, 2023, and 2024. In special instances, her public works feature a whimsical blend of crochet and paint.

Her personal artwork includes paintings, lace making, all things crochet, mixed media, and more. Her whimsical and colorful fiber art is currently taking over a gallery on the 2nd floor of the VAPA Center through July 24.

DEAR CHARLOTTE CITY COUNCIL,
💰The value artists bring to cities is immense—we spark economic growth, enhance quality of life, and foster a vibrant, inclusive community. Art creates spaces where conversations begin, cultures connect, and innovation thrives.

🎨THERE IS NO CHARLOTTE WITHOUT ART. It's in the name. It's woven into our identity. And we are here to stay. Charlotte's artists are relentlessly fighting for their creative visions, with or without your help.

🏆 But ONLY with your help can Charlotte become a nationally recognized creative catalyst. Art is transformative, and it can change this city. Council, we implore you to vote YES to the maximum proposed amount for Arts & Culture funding in 2025.

Creatives build cities. Let's build together.

Signed,
The artists, the dreamers, and the doers
✨✨✨

IF YOU SUPPORT THE ARTS: Please SHARE across your networks. Let's speak up and make sure our voices are heard.

If you would like to email City Council yourself (please do so by Sunday night), I have access to an extremely well-written, way more professional letter composed by fellow creative community members and I am happy to share. Shoot me a DM.

👾FEATURED ARTIST👾
Eulises "Eulizerd" Orellana is an illustrative mural artist transplanted from LA to Charlotte in mid-2011. Some of Euli's work can be found at Super Abari Game Bar in the Belmont neighborhood, the CanJam building in NoDa, and Luminous Lane in Uptown Charlotte. Euli's art is best described as bold, clean, and vibrant, with a touch of silliness to keep it interesting. His work is highly influenced by a spectrum of Japanese anime, 90's pop culture, and video games through the generations.

Euli's artwork draws the viewer in and encourages them to embrace a sense of wonder. He believes art can inspire in any form.

"Whether you want to become the greatest portrait artist in the world or you really wanna slap a sticker higher than the cat next to you, it's all equally valuable to our growth as a community and individuals."

✨AN ARTIST YOU SHOULD KNOW
is a Latina multimedia artist, whose keen interest in the innermost parts of people’s hearts has led her to pursue fine art. From murals and sculptures, to paintings and mosaics, bold marks and energy are signature in her work!

In a busy world filled with noise, Ingrid believes that a moment of peace can be found by resting the eye upon creativity with no strings attached. She has created public art for Novant Health facilities, the City of Charlotte, Blumenthal Fellows, Davidson College, Charlotte Shout, CIAF, and murals for private clients. Her smaller scale work has been exhibited in multiple galleries, books, and art fairs. I am quite obsessed with her little mushroom characters! 🍄🍄

FEATURED ARTIST 🌟
just completed her BFA in Graphic Design from UNCG in December. And while earning her degree, she was also creating for brands most artists don't bag until mid-career...or never (aka the ACC Men's Basketball Tournament, Champion, Amazon, Nike Running). She also completed a mural residency abroad in Buenos Aires last summer.

✨Natalie hopes to inspire future generations of artists to embrace their child-like selves, create their own worlds, and make their own opportunities. She is clear in her purpose - to create.

🎨Join Natalie on Saturday, April 20th for a colorful community painting day at the new CLT Recyclery/Trips for Kids location! ()

📍Located at 812 Atando Ave, Charlotte, NC 28206
✨All ages and skill levels are welcome! Don't miss out on this chance to create, inspire, repeat!
