The Charlotte Chess Center is looking for experienced educators to mentor our coaches in our school chess programs!

While our coaches bring strong chess knowledge, many are still developing their classroom management and instructional leadership skills. This role bridges that gap by equipping our team with practical behavior management strategies, observation feedback, and instructional tools to ensure structured, engaging learning environments.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of classroom experience with expertise in classroom management and mentorship -- no chess knowledge required.

With flexible hours and compensation of $40 - $50/hr, this part-time position is a perfect addition for a veteran educator.

The Naroditsky Fellowship is now open for applications!

This $50,000 award was created in memory of our late GM-in-Residence, the world renowned and beloved Daniel "Danya" Naroditsky.

In 2014, Danya was the recipient of the prestigious Samford Fellowship, allowing him to focus on his chess career shortly after becoming a GM. The Naroditsky Fellowship similarly alleviates the financial burdens for elite-level juniors wishing to pursue a career in chess.

The Naroditsky Fellowship is for players who:

- are 20 years or younger at the time of application
- residents the US playing for the US FIDE Federation
- ranked amongst top-10 overall juniors or top-10 for age group (US Chess or FIDE)

Applications will be accepted through December 1, 2026. For more information or to apply, visit the Naroditsky Fellowship page: https://www.cltccf.org/naroditsky-fellowship
