Misunderstood

Much like my poems, I am too, misunderstood
I try to explain myself more than I should
But the deeper the message the quicker it’s lost in translation
I’ve had people tell me they know me when they’re clearly mistaken
The Gardner knows the fruit of their plants because they planted the seed
They were there to water it everyday and cultivate its leaves
Stumbling upon a butterfly flapping in the breeze as the wind carried its wings
I realized I knew nothing of the caterpillar that spun silk into strings
Cause and react, same as the wings on the birds back that adapt to the current
The wind can be a propeller or deterrent
As the sky is a blank canvas, same as the life I choose to live
Every moment is a repeated choice of what you choose to keep or give
This body of mine has a capacity that holds life lessons, memories and intrinsic value
What I keep will become seeds for my new life and guide me like a personal how to
What I decide to give to this world is the best of what’s inside of me
Sometimes my expressions come out beautifully, other times just plain ugly
Same as the Toucan’s droppings fertilizing the floors of the rain forest
In this life I explore it both as a student and as a tourist
I’ve seen the thin line between life and death as well as love and hate
I’ve seen Ying yang take place right in front of my face
You don’t decide your fate as much as you didn’t decide to inhale just now
The decisions you make however, is the deciding factor on how your fate goes down
You will receive everything that’s meant for you no ifs, ands or buts about it
Even when things seem coincidental, on purpose, or when you doubt it
It’s meant to be as it is and it was always going to be that way
How it happens however is where we get to decide our fate
Why it happens, is answered by the results of our life
And only time will tell why the most high wanted you to go left and not right

For those traveling, the closest airport is Memphis (MEM), followed by Nashville (BNA). Jackson, TN offers the closest hotel accommodations and Airbnb options.

Following the service, everyone is invited to the repass at a home in Jackson, TN. The address will be shared soon.

I wish I could create Art everyday
As the sun rises it shines my way
With the right idea, change can overcome fear
The spark that shifted the world’s gears
Was coincidentally the big bang
As I was walking snapping pictures of a plane
The lady behind me whispered it’s illegal
To her husband
I thought to myself I’m going to ship this picture to my cousin
That never saw skyscrapers
As the plane resembled the one’s we made out of papers
Sipping on juice made with grape flavor
Living life carefree as we exchanged favors
Caged birds sing, while the free birds fly
I want to make it to the sky
Before I up and die
Pictures of what’s inside
Make you feel the love they try to hide
I was r***d at five
And never once said f**k the world
Just like the Milky Way Swirl
Everything is as it should be
And that’s word to every religions almighty
