In 2013, founder Travon Bracey, decided to use his journalism skills and inspiration to create a cultural movement that will support the independent, the unrecognized, the unknown talent, and the underground artists and professionals within the black community by interviewing them to make a difference throughout the fashion, art, entertainment, music, and activism/social industries. In November 20
13, Bracey launched IndieNOW Magazine, the online magazine. Though, he started the magazine, he didn't feel that the magazine had enough creative concept to it. Being inspired by websites such as AFROPUNK and Saint Heron made him want to create a community for like-minded individuals. ArtREV: The Hub™ is a cultural movement for individuals that are classified as "the independent", "the unrecognized", "the unknown talent", and "the underground" to give them recognition through all that they have done within four categories: Fashion, Art, Music, and Lifestyle & Culture.
