Old Town Cornelius - OTC ✨ Building a vibrant, connected, and creative downtown in Cornelius, NC through events, public art, placemaking, and community partnerships.

The Old Town Cornelius (OTC) area is becoming a hub for a vibrant and flourishing arts scene just outside of Charlotte, NC. It is a destination for culture of all kinds: from boutique stores and bottle shops, to farm-to-fork restaurants, popular local breweries, live music venues, area history and outdoor greenways & parks. The Old Town Cornelius (OTC) Inc organization is now a 501c3. OTC members

live and work in Cornelius. They plan to develop programs and activities to further enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors. One function is hosting Community Forum Meetings open to residents and businesses to informally discuss important issues with representatives of the Town of Cornelius. Other OTC areas of interest for upcoming programs and projects will be arts and culture including LKN Creatives, history, healthy lifestyle, OTC kids amd collaborations with other businesses and non-profits. 📸 A picture is worth 1,000 words • Cornelius lost a legend this week • James Edward Conard Jr. passed peacefully the morning of June 02, 2026 at age 78.

Jack was known as the town historian due to his extensive photo collection and the countless stories he documented throughout the years.

But to most, he was known simply as a friend.

While his photographs preserved the memories of our town, it was the way he treated people that left the greatest impression.

If true kindness had an illustration in the dictionary, there would be a picture of Jack’s eyes.

If selfless compassion had a tone, it would be the sound of Jack’s voice.

As Maya Angelou famously said, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

And Jack made us feel loved.

For that, he will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever woven into the story of our history.

What a great Old Town Business Collective meetup last night! 🙌

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and to for hosting us in their awesome upstairs space.

The momentum in Old Town is real. Between new businesses, new events, exciting projects, and all the collaboration happening behind the scenes, there’s a lot to be excited about right now. The energy in the room was a great reminder of what happens when local business owners, community leaders, and supporters come together.
