It is with a heavy heart that I make this announcement. Our front man decided that the Descendants of Chaos project was no longer moving fast enough for him and that his heart was no longer in it. And with the loss of our front man, our drummer doesn't have the time to put into rebuilding. I don't blame him at all. He has 2 other badass bands that already demand most of his time. Chris is an amazing musician and an all around awesome guy. I thoroughly enjoyed blasting out the D.O.C tunes with him. With that being said, I cannot say I agree with Trip's decision, but if his heart isn't in it then I have to respect that. This is the 3rd time my heart has been broken over this band that started in my backyard, and it will be the last. Being the sole rights holder to the name and the music (not the lyrics, those belong entirely to Trip Hodge) I am officially retiring the name and the music associated with it. Descendants of Chaos has had a 6 year run and I couldn't be happier with everything that has been accomplished up to this point. Our list of songs is impressive and the shows we've played have been amazing. The people I've met along the way are also amazing. I wouldn't trade any of it for anything. At this point I'd like to thank all of the current and past members that have kept this train going for 6 years. Trip Hodge, Chris Peavy, Kelly Wallace, Richard Starnes, Jim Goodman, Michael Caito-Khurshid, Justin Page, Aaron Whittington, Ole Hale, John Meyers, Jay Earley, Eddie Spencer. I've enjoyed sharing the stage with each and everyone of you guys and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'd like to thank all of our fans who have supported us through this journey. Without you guys the local scene is non existent. Here is our list of songs. Most of which are on YouTube somewhere if you'd like to give them a listen:
Wake Up
My Own Mind
Smoking Gun
Helldozer
Remember The Scar
Escape Pod
Sleepwalker
Betrayal of Aggression
Parting The Sea
Different Level
Clear
The Fallen
All I Can Give
And we had a couple on the back burner plus a brand new one that was one practice away from finalizing.
Though this is the end of Descendants of Chaos, it is not the end of music for the remaining members. Myself, Richard and Kelly are continuing. I've secured a new drummer a little while ago and I have prospects for a new singer. Trip was key to our sound with his unique vocals. I don't see anyway for that sound to continue without him. And since I will never be involved in another project with him, I see no reason to keep the name or the music going. There are no hard feelings and I wish him luck in future. I will support and help promote any other project he gets involved with. Like I said no hard feelings, just lessons learned.
Again I thank all of you. Keep your eyes peeled for the new project on the horizon.
Sincerely,
Sic
