π»πΌπ¨ Groundbreaking!
On Friday, December 11, Bishop Peter Jugis blessed the grounds and led a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction for a new Fine Arts Center at CCHS!
Bishop Jugis was joined by Monsignor Patrick Winslow, Vicar General and Chancellor, Father Timothy Reid, Vicar for Education for Catholic Schools and CCHS Chaplain, Dr. Greg Monroe, Superintendent of Catholic Schools, former CCHS Principal Sister Paulette Williams and Principal Kurt Telford.
This $20 million dollar project will include educational spaces for the visual and performing arts along with a two-story, 600 seat auditorium. The campus expansion also includes much-needed renovation of the existing building at CCHS to improve PE and athletics spaces.
Scheduled for completion in June 2022, this long-awaited expansion will impact the entire extended Catholic community - everyone at CCHS, as well as area Catholic Schools. This building will provide a beautiful, inspiring, and comfortable space to hold concerts, theatrical productions, and programs.
The project is made possible due to the dedication of so many over the years and as a result of the generosity of supporters who have committed $6.1 million as of today. The remaining funds for the project are coming from MACS capital fees.
