Piccolo Spoleto closing reception last night.

It was a wonderful evening celebrating the close of the 2026 Piccolo Spoleto Juried Art Exhibition at City Gallery. Undertow, my ceramic and reed sculpture, was one of 84 works selected from more than 400 submissions.

One of the highlights of the evening was meeting fellow exhibiting artists and spending time surrounded by so much exceptional work. City Gallery creates such a welcoming atmosphere for these events filled with conversation, encouragement, smiles, and an appreciation for the arts.

Thank you to everyone who visited the exhibition and supported the artists throughout the show. It was an honor to be included!

Some days, the best thing on the to-do list is making time to create.

These handmade oyster trays and egg trays are now available at Kiawah River Finery.

Crafted from white speckled stoneware, each piece is finished in a flowing teal glaze and a creamy matte white glaze. Inspired by the beauty of the Lowcountry, these functional pieces are designed for gathering, entertaining, and everyday use.

Today at Kiawah River for The Goatery G.O.A.T. 5K felt like everything coming together. The weather was perfect, the energy was steady, and the people were the best.

The Faithful Oak donated pottery pieces for the race winners, and it meant a lot to be part of their day.

We spent the day set up there, surrounded by real conversations, genuine connection, and so much support.

The Goatery knows how to do it right. 🐐

We are already counting down to 2027!

Reed, woven slowly.

Two materials brought together with intention.

Strength held in form.

Undertow

Medium: Ceramic and hand woven reed
14” H x 4” W x 4” D

This piece pairs a handbuilt ceramic base with woven reed, allowing the form to extend and shift through the weaving.

Undertow is inspired by the coastal waters of the Lowcountry. That quiet force beneath the surface, steady, directional, and unseen.

A balance of anchoring and yielding.
Structure and pull.

One of a kind.

20” H x 16” W

Rooted in heritage and shaped by where she comes from, Daniela reflects a quiet strength and presence. With ancestry tracing back to Mexico and a life formed in the Lowcountry, she carries both history and place within her.

Flowers rest in her hair as both adornment and identity, a blooming from within. The work holds individuality and continuity, honoring a legacy that is carried forward and continues to grow.
