WHAT is the Charleston Academy of Music Guitar Orchestra?
- A new program for all guitar enthusiasts;
- An assembly of different parts with two or more performers in each;
- The fraternity and fellowship of the people with the same interest of guitar music. WHO can join?
- The guitar players who are 12 years and up;
- Residents (local or from the area);
- Students of the high school, college or a

music studio;
- Accomplished performers or amateurs;
- The performers who have at least one year of lessons or performing. WHERE are the rehearsals going to be?
- Charleston Academy of Music rehearsal room (189 Rutledge Avenue, Charleston SC 29403)

WHEN rehearsals are going to be?
- Thursdays, 5 PM – 6.30 PM.
- First rehearsal will be on Thursday, August 29. HOW is the Orchestra going to work?
- You’ll be asked to set up an interview or audition with the teacher. It will help to use your performance skills the best.
- You’ll be expected to pay the tuition fee of $200 per semester (around 15 sessions). The first session will be free of charge.
- The rehearsals will be divided into the full orchestra and sectional practice.
- The performers required practicing the pieces before the weekly rehearsals, and they are welcome to consult the teacher regarding any musical or technical difficulties.
- You’ll be expected to perform with the Orchestra at least once a semester. WHY would guitar performers like to participate in the Orchestra?
- You’ll get involved into the Charleston and state music scene with the continuation of the good musical tradition for gathering together to perform the beloved instrument;
- You’ll gain the music education through increasing the performance skills and basics of the music theory;
- You’ll have the possibility to perform different styles of guitar music, including the original compositions of the orchestra members;
- Promotion and popularization of guitar music by bringing classics and originals to the general music scene;
- It’s an excellent way to make music in a positive atmosphere.
