Time for me to get back to the series I started on May 12th. Here is some of my writing process and thoughts that brought me to create "Exiting the Entrance - of Love".

This song was envisioned as what it feels like to be in a relationship that is failing or going nowhere and you need to find a way out. I'm sure many of us have been there. Not all relationships are meant to last forever. When you are in a failing relationship, leaving it can be difficult. There are times when I wanted to fix a relationship because I felt something was broken. In reality, there was nothing to fix. Both of us were just not compatible. Which had me writing the lyric "I tried to fix something you broke, My failed attempt went up in smoke". There isn't a fix that will work if the other person doesn't want to change. It really is that simple. So, I needed to find my way back to the start, "the entrance", if you will.

Also, after the first chorus, I write about vanishing love and being shut out. So many times I felt like I was giving all my love and getting nothing in return. Sure, in the beginning, the feelings seemed mutual. But as the relationship moves along, often times reciprocating love fizzles out.

Lyrics come to me in many different ways, as they do for most writers. My mind will wander off and think about something and the next thing I know I am writing a song about it. I'll explain how I came up with a more random song that isn't about love, in the next edition of "How Did I Come Up With That?".
