Thank you to Ben Fritz and The Wall Street Journal for including us in today’s story about Lightning Lane. We’d also like to share the reasons why we love using the service and ways to reduce that feeling of frustration mentioned in the article. https://www.wsj.com/lifestyle/travel/disney-parks-lines-lightning-lane-e443865e
While it can be challenging to balance booking rides with enjoying the park, the benefit is that the system is much more affordable and accessible than other services that simply use extremely high pricing to limit access to the shorter queue. Plus, it allows Disney to regulate the length of that shorter queue with far more precision than other parks are able to accomplish by simply pricing people out.
If you’re thinking of using Lightning Lane on your next visit, plan to manage it in those moments in your day when you have downtime - either while waiting in the line for a ride, waiting for a show to begin or waiting for your mobile food order to be prepared. If you aren’t able to snag a Lightning Lane for an attraction you want right away, hop in a standby queue and use that time to optimize your reservations and streamline the next stage of your day. Most importantly, change your perspective and think of Lightning Lane booking as a game where the prize is a super short wait on a great ride. Get help from the rest of your group and turn it into a challenge to see who can “win” the next ride for your family.
Yes, it does take some time if you want to book all the best rides in one day, but it can be done if that’s your goal and it will be more than a hundred dollars per person cheaper than the alternative. And if you would rather not bother, there’s always Premier Pass. Whatever you choose, remember that these services are about adding more fun to your day and giving you the ability to experience more in the park than you otherwise could. We love Lightning Lane and believe it’s the best system out there for spending less time in line and more time enjoying the magic.
To avoid endless lines, one person in every party has to manically book and revise ride reservations on their phone .
