It's beginning to take shape....

This little Pensacola watercolor study is starting to come together.

I’m working in a sketchbook on paper that isn’t really intended for watercolor, so the paint is doing some unexpected things — a little texture, a little unpredictability, and definitely a mind of its own!

But I’m loving the soft blues, peaches and golden tones that are beginning to emerge.
This is the beginning of a new ethereal Pensacola landscape that I'm developing for Artworks Seville.

A little Pensacola watercolor sketch in the works…

This is the beginning of something new.

I’ve been spending some time sketching and playing with color, light, and atmosphere as I prepare for a new ethereal Pensacola landscape coming soon to Artworks Seville.

These little watercolor studies are where the painting begins — capturing the feeling of a place before I translate it into something larger.

I’m especially enjoying the soft Gulf colors and that hazy, dreamlike quality that makes Pensacola feel so magical.

This is just the beginning…

I can't wait to show you where this little sketch leads.

I’m thrilled to share that both of my paintings, Echoes of Autumn and Gentle Descent, have been accepted into the Rustle of Autumn Leaves Show at Impressions Fine Art Gallery inside the Blue Harbor Resort Hotel in Sheboygan, WI!

Exhibition Dates: September 11th through November 8
Opening Celebration: September 11th, 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Gentle Descent captures the awe of discovering unexpected waterfalls around winding mountain roads, water falling softly through trees and light.

Echoes of Autumn is a reflection on the lingering feeling of the season—those colors, textures, and quiet moments that stay with us even as the landscape begins to change.

I’m so grateful for this opportunity and excited to have my work included alongside so many talented artists.

Thank you to Impressions Fine Art Gallery for the invitation and recognition. I can’t wait to see these pieces on the gallery walls!

I had 12 students join me for this class, and I couldn't be more proud of the beautiful paintings they created! Each painting was unique, and it was so much fun watching everyone's Blue Heron come to life. Some students have been painting with me for quite a while, while others are newer to watercolor, but I could see progress, confidence, and new techniques coming through in everyone's work.

I especially love seeing students grow from class to class. That's one of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me.

Thank you to everyone who came and spent the afternoon painting with me. I hope you enjoyed the process as much as I did!

One of those moments that makes a teacher’s heart happy.

Tonight, while gallery sitting at Impressions Gallery inside the fabulous Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan, WI, I was walking around getting familiar with all of the wonderful artists represented here when I came across a familiar name—and a painting by one of my watercolor students!

Her work was juried into the gallery, which is such a wonderful accomplishment. And now, here she is, exhibiting alongside other professional artists. How exciting to see where her creative journey is taking her!
