"Be My Demitasse" by Daniel Giordano came down early so we'll have an interim before the next exhibition - Time Out of Joint, a beautiful photography show with Caleb Beecher, Ross Goldstein, and Hugh Hopkins, opening October 8th.

"I seek to pay homage to the simple geometric shapes that lend themselves to extrusion and mass production. Square, rectangular, and round tube act as structural members in our bridges and buildings...Heated in electric arc furnaces as hot as the surface of the sun, metal is extruded as immense bars that are then rolled and stretched and bent. This is the mammoth, sometimes outdated, infrastructure that exists as a foundation upon which our lives are built....At human scale, prehistoric earth-works, cave paintings, church frescos, skyscrapers, and rivers of plastic refuse sit in concert with cliffs, rivers, meteor impact sites, forest fires, and fjords as we create a liquid mythology of our lives. "
