Postcards from Amalfi is officially LIVE! 🇮🇹🍋

Nine original paintings. Nine little pieces of the Amalfi Coast. And so many memories of a place I wish I could bottle up and bring home.

What began as a trip to Italy in May turned into a collection inspired by everything I loved about the Amalfi Coast—the colorful villages perched along the cliffs, the endless shades of blue, the warm Mediterranean light, and those quiet moments when you just want time to stand still.

Each painting is my way of holding on to a little piece of that experience. And now, I’m so excited to share them with you!

After yesterday’s early release to my collectors’ list, the entire Postcards from Amalfi collection is now available to shop on my website!

Swipe through to see all nine original paintings. I hope one of them takes you somewhere you’ve been, somewhere you dream of going, or simply somewhere that makes you happy. 💙

✨ Shop the collection through the link in my bio.

And tell me in the comments—which one is your favorite? I’d love to know!

If you’re the kind of woman who chooses a hotel for the view, plans dinner around the sunset, and comes home from a trip wishing you could bottle up just a little of that feeling… I think we’re going to get along beautifully. 🤍

That’s exactly why I paint the places I’ve been.

This little piece of Italy was inspired by an evening in Praiano, watching the last of the sunlight fade over the Mediterranean. The kind of moment when the world seems to slow down, and you wish you could stay just a little longer.

I believe the art we bring into our homes should remind us of the places we’ve loved, the memories we’ve made, and the beautiful moments we never want to forget.

This painting is part of my Postcards from Amalfi collection, inspired by our travels along the Italian coast. 🇮🇹

If you love beautiful places, meaningful art, and a home filled with memories, I’d love for you to follow along.

Tell me, what’s one place you’ve visited that you wish you could bring home with you? ✨

Have you ever fallen in love with a place and wished you could bring a little piece of it home with you? 🇮🇹

That’s exactly how I felt about Ravello.

Perched high above the Amalfi Coast, Ravello is one of those places that almost doesn’t seem real. The brilliant blue Mediterranean, lush gardens, colorful flowers, and views that make you want to linger just a little longer.

This painting, Somewhere in Ravello, was inspired by a view from the gardens of Villa Rufolo. I wanted to capture not just what I saw, but how it felt to be there.

And that’s what I love most about art. A painting can be so much more than something beautiful on your wall. It can transport you somewhere, bring back a favorite memory, or remind you of a place you dream of visiting someday.

✨ Somewhere in Ravello is part of my new Postcards from Amalfi collection, launching TOMORROW, Thursday, October 15!

💌 My Collector’s List receives exclusive early access at 11 AM Thursday, a full day before the collection opens to the public.

Subscribers will receive an email tomorrow morning with the private password to shop the collection before anyone else.

And when you join, you’ll also receive my complimentary 20-page Amalfi Coast Travel Guide, filled with favorite places, experiences, and recommendations from our trip!

Afternoon in Capri 🇮🇹

Of all the beautiful places we visited along the Amalfi Coast, Capri had a charm all its own.

There was something wonderfully nostalgic about the island—the colorful buildings, the boats coming and going, the beautiful blue water, and that feeling of stepping into another era. It was everything I imagined an Italian summer would be.

When we returned home, I knew I wanted to capture a little of that feeling on canvas.

Afternoon in Capri is one of the original oil paintings in my upcoming Postcards from Amalfi collection, inspired by the places and moments from our trip that I wish I could revisit again and again.

That’s one of the things I love most about painting places I’ve traveled. A painting can become a little window back to a wonderful memory—and perhaps a reminder of a place that holds special meaning for someone else, too.

✨ The collection will be available to my collector’s list first, on Thursday, October 15!

If you haven’t joined yet, there’s still time! You’ll also receive my complimentary 20-page Amalfi Coast Travel Guide, filled with our favorite restaurants, experiences, and travel tips.

🇮🇹 Join through the link in my bio.

And I’d love to know—have you ever been to Capri, or is it on your travel wish list?

Grab my complementary Amalfi Coast Travel Guide! 🇮🇹✨

After our trip to the Amalfi Coast in May, something funny kept happening: friends started asking me to help plan their trips.

Some were dreaming about going someday. Others already had trips on the calendar and wanted to know where we stayed, where we ate, how we got around, what we loved most—and what I would do differently.

And I realized…I had a lot to say. 🤍

So while I was painting the places and moments that would eventually become my Postcards from Amalfi collection, I decided to create something else alongside it:

My own Amalfi Coast Travel Guide—and I’m giving it to you as a complimentary gift.

It’s filled with photographs from our trip, our itinerary, favorite restaurants, where we stayed, how we traveled between the towns, our favorite experiences, and all the little things I wish I’d known before we went.

When you join my Collector’s List, the guide is yours to download immediately. And you’ll also be the first to see and shop the Postcards from Amalfi collection when it opens exclusively to subscribers on Thursday, October 15—a full day before the public release on Friday, October 16.

Whether the Amalfi Coast is already one of your favorite places or still sitting on your someday list, I hope this little guide brings a bit of Italy your way. 🍋🇮🇹

Hi, I’m Cari, and since there are some new faces here, I thought it was time for a proper introduction.

My path to becoming an artist has been anything but a straight line.

I grew up in upstate New York, quite literally in the middle of a cornfield, and went on to earn degrees in biology and human genetics and worked as a genetic counselor. I later stayed home to raise my three children, and quickly dove into photography headfirst. And yes, it was old-school film in those days.

That turned into a 23 year career as a portrait, photographer, photographing everything from newborns, maternity, families and high school seniors.

And then in my 50s I picked up a paintbrush.

I didn’t go to art school. I’m mostly self talk, with plenty of workshops, experimenting, mistakes, and hours at the easel along the way. What began as something I simply wanted to learn eventually became my second act and the work I absolutely love doing.

Today, I paint primarily in oils and and encaustic, and I’m endlessly drawn to landscapes with a strong sense of place: southern marshes, quiet coastlines, and scenes inspired by places I’ve traveled and loved.

Because for me, a landscape is rarely just about the view. It’s about remembering how a place felt. Morning light over the marsh, a road discovered on vacation, the color of the water somewhere you wish you could return to, that wonderful feeling of being transported back to a particular place in time.

I create paintings for people who want their homes to tell the story of a life well lived filled with beautiful things, meaningful places, travels remembered, and perhaps a few places still waiting to be explored.

When I’m not in the studio, you’ll often find me traveling, near the water, taking far too many photographs for future paintings, or - more recently - standing outside with an easel, trying my hand at plein air painting.

If you would like behind-the-scenes studio information, early access to future painting collection releases, and an occasional travel guide, I would be honored if you would join my Collector’s List. The link to join is in my bio.

My first time plein air painting — in the lowcountry of Beaufort, SC, with all the marshes I love! 🎨
Swipe for everything I learned along the way (spoiler: bring bug spray).
There’s something about painting outside, at the mercy of changing light and weather, that you just can’t replicate in the studio. Humbling in the best way. Already planning the next trip →

I’ve been wanting to try this for a while! I got up super early and drove out to the absolutely gorgeous Hunting Island State Park from our Airbnb in Beaufort and got everything set up in the very dim pre-dawn light. I got the painting basically blocked in and then waited for the light show! It was so much fun! A nice gentleman and his golden retriever stopped by to chat and the only other people out there were 4 members of the turtle patrol! I will bring this back into the studio to finish and I really want to do this again!

Thank you so much to the Carolina Art Show for hosting a great event in Wilmington this weekend! I was honored to be selected to participate and so grateful to the collector who went home with my painting at the opening Friday night! I have been to most of the beaches on the coast of North Carolina but in all the decades I have lived here, I have never been to the city of Wilmington itself. We had a wonderful time exploring downtown, eating at great restaurants and, yes, going to the beach!

Just finished up this 10x20 semi abstracted painting. This one is based off the memory of a vintage painting that was hanging in the house my daughter bought last year. After we toured the house with her I could not get the painting out of my mind. My daughter even tried to see if we could buy it from the estate that was selling the house, but no luck there! So this is my version of it!
