Hurricane tip:

With the threat of a hurricane this coming week, we have a chance at losing power. Without power, our tanks equipment can't run. A solution to that is to buy a battery powered air pump. The ones in sporting goods used for bait buckets is just fine. If you can not get a pump, dont worry. Every few hours take a clean bowl (be sure to rinse any dishwater residue and soap off) and just scoop and pour the water back in. Oxygen is not created in the water, it is created by the agitation on the surface.

Another tip would be to do your water changes and maintenance this weekend ahead of the storm. Dont do it the day before. Your tank wont have time to adjust itself before the power goes out.
