A look back at our SOLD OUT CANVAS Kids Summer Art Camp! 🎨

Our young artists explored the work of Mondrian, Kandinsky, Van Gogh, Picasso, Eric Carle, and Monet while experimenting with painting, collage, color, and their own creative ideas.

We loved watching their confidence grow and seeing each unique masterpiece come to life. Thank you to all of the families who joined us and to Sebastian Martin for leading such a fun and inspiring camp!

Meet Sebastian Martin, the artist and instructor behind Young Artists Studio at CANVAS. 🎨

Sebastian is an internationally recognized artist, illustrator, and educator based in Georgia. He has a background in graphic design and illustration, has created live caricatures at major events across the country, and is a two-time recipient of the International Society of Caricature Artists’ Golden Nosey Award. You can see some of his stellar caricature work by following him at sketchasaurus.rex.

In addition to his professional work, Sebastian has illustrated children’s books and is passionate about encouraging creativity in young artists. As both an artist and father of three, he brings an engaging, supportive, and approachable teaching style to the classroom.

During Young Artists Studio, Sebastian will guide campers through creative projects inspired by famous artists like Monet, Picasso, Mondrian and more, with instruction tailored to each child’s age and abilities.

Wondering what kids will actually do during Young Artists Studio? 🎨

This 3-day summer art camp introduces young creators to famous artist inspiration, playful painting techniques, color, shape, pattern and creative expression. Campers will create their own artwork while learning, experimenting and building confidence.

Instruction from artist Sebastian Martin sketchasaurus.rex will be tailored to each camper’s age, confidence level and creative abilities, so every child can participate, grow and feel proud of what they create.

During this 3-day kids summer art camp, young artists will explore the wonderful world of art through projects inspired by Monet, Picasso, Mondrian, and more. Campers will experiment with a variety of painting tools and techniques—from traditional brushwork to playful finger painting—while creating artwork of their own.

Everyone has a story worth telling.
And you don’t have to be a “writer” to begin.

Our 4-part memoir writing series starts next Wednesday, June 3 at CANVAS by Menagerie on Main.

This welcoming series is for anyone who has memories, family stories, life lessons, or personal reflections they’ve been wanting to put into words — but maybe haven’t known where to start.

Over four Wednesday evenings, we will guide you through the process of shaping your story into a finished “flash memoir” — a short, meaningful piece of writing you can share, keep, publish, or continue building from.
