Our original vision for TAT was to provide one, simple, action you can take right now to preserve, strengthen, and grow the policies we believe in here at home. But while really sh*tty things are happening in our own country, this week we've chosen to support the policy of compassion and kindness. We're heartbroken by what's happening in Aleppo, and now's the time we can make the most impact to help these struggling people with one last chance.

This was started as a love project by some fiercely loving writers in response to the Syrian refugee crisis, they believe there's no such thing as other peoples' children. What they do is incredible, and they want us to be remembered as the generation that chose Love over Fear. THEY HAVE ZERO OVERHEAD. All the money goes directly to the organizations they have vetted and choose to support.

I just called the office of the Comptroller General of the Government Accountability Office and spoke with a very nice woman named Miss Mahoney. I told her I was calling in support of U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren's request to audit the President Elect's finances for conflicts of interest. She noted my call. I also asked her what the most effective way to be sure my support counted, and she suggested I email the administrators...
They're tracking people who were urging support for an audit via email, not phone.

- CALL your Senators and Representatives in the House and tell them to fight Steve Bannon’s appointment as White House Chief Strategist.
- SHARE this status, say you've taken action, and challenge your friends to do the same.

Here's How:
- To connect with your Senator directly in DC, You can phone the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121. A switchboard operator will connect you directly with the Senate office you request.

- You will speak to a staff member in their office. Tell them to pass a message to the Senator or Rep, telling them to fight Steve Bannon's appointment as best they can, and at the very least to release a statement condemning his appointment and the "Alt Right" movement.

We stand for justice, freedom, and vehemently oppose misogyny, racism, and ignorance. Come join us Sunday at 3pm in Thomas Paine Park for an open rehearsal and drumming jam. Bring drums, noise makers, buckets, or just you. All are invited. Wear a pantsuit if you wish. Women will not be suffocated by the moldy yam new president this country elected. Stand up, make noise.

We need you to keep up these fights now and for the rest of your lives. And to all the women -- and especially the young women -- who put their faith in this campaign and in me: I want you to know that nothing has made me prouder than to be your champion.

Now, I know we have still not shattered that highest and hardest glass ceiling, but someday someone will — and hopefully sooner than we might think right now.

And to all of the little girls who are watching this, never doubt that you are valuable and powerful and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world to pursue and achieve your own dreams.”
