👑✨ What a day to remember! ✨👑

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our inaugural pageant and helped make it such a special event. To all who braved the heat, traveled over to us, learned alongside us, and supported us from the very beginning — we appreciate you more than you know. We are excited to continue growing this event and look forward to future years!

A huge thank you to our amazing contestants for stepping on stage and sharing your confidence, personalities, and smiles with us. Congratulations to all of our royalty — tonight, we celebrate you! 👑✨

We are incredibly grateful for our judges, Shana, Ms. Kathy, and Ms. Tracy - who were the masterminds behind every beautiful detail, St. John Berchmans Church & the Village of Cankton, all of the local businesses who worked alongside us ( Menard's Southern Specialty And Processing, Now It's Cajun All Purpose Seasoning, Chubby’s Cajun Cabana Catering) and every person who played a part in making today happen.

And last but certainly not least, thank you to our fire crew and their families. You continue to show up, show out, and give so much of yourselves to this community. Tiny but mighty — and we are so grateful for all of you. ❤️🔥

🍚 JAMBALAYA FOR SALE — OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! 🍚

We may have gotten a little ambitious with the jambalaya for today’s pageant. 😂 So if you’re looking for something good to eat, come see us!

You do NOT have to be attending the pageant to stop by and purchase food. We’ll be selling at:

(jambalaya only — just a bigger serving!)

👑🦟 PAGEANT DAY IS HERE! 🦟👑

Today is our very first Louisiana Mosquito Festival Pageant, and we are SO excited to finally welcome all of our contestants and families! ❤️

⚠️ GPS NOTE: The address may show as Sunset instead of Cankton. It is the same location!

The hall is the building next to the church, toward the back of the parking lot.

There is no changing area at the pageant venue, so contestants who need somewhere to get dressed or finish getting ready are welcome to use the church hall.

Bring your labeled voting container! Voting is $1 = 1 vote and is CASH ONLY.

🌭 Concessions will be available throughout the day with jambalaya, hot dogs, drinks, chips and Cheerios.

🦟 We’ll also have Louisiana Mosquito Festival shirts, koozies and $100 ATV raffle tickets available for purchase.

📸 Kelsey’s Heavenly Creations Photography will be there taking pageant photos and offering headshots for an additional fee.

We are officially down to the FINAL HOURS to register for the first Louisiana Mosquito Festival Pageant!

Registration AND payment must be completed by Wednesday, August 12 at 11:59 PM. No late entries will be accepted.

And in case you missed it, our boys’ divisions have been updated! Boys ages 0–8 can now compete. See the updated age divisions on the graphic. 👑

👑 BOYS’ DIVISIONS UPDATE! 👑
Due to lower registration numbers in our boys’ divisions, and after receiving several requests to allow older boys to participate, we have decided to adjust the age ranges for our Master divisions for this year’s pageant.

The updated divisions are:
👑 Baby Master — Ages 0–23 Months
👑 Toddler Master — Ages 2–4
👑 Tiny Master — Ages 5–8

We’re hoping this gives a few more boys the opportunity to join us and compete! ❤️🦟

Registration AND payment close Wednesday, August 12 at 11:59 PM. No late entries will be accepted.

We are so excited for Saturday and cannot wait to welcome everyone to the first Louisiana Mosquito Festival Pageant! ❤️🦟

These numbers reflect completed registrations as of August 11. Registration AND payment close tomorrow, Wednesday, August 12 at 11:59 PM. No late entries will be accepted.

A few pageant day reminders:

🎟️ Spectator admission is $5 per person. Children 5 and under are FREE!

📸 We will have a photographer on site offering contestant headshots! She will also be capturing photos throughout the pageant. Kelsey’s Heavenly Creation’s

🌭 Concessions will be available throughout the day!

💵 We highly encourage everyone to bring cash for admission, concessions, and other purchases throughout the day. We will be able to accept cards, but we will only have one card reader available, so cash will help keep the lines moving!

👗 Contestants needing a place to get ready may use St. John Berchmans Church Hall at 552 Main St., directly across the street from Cankton Village Hall. Space will be available for dressing, hair, and makeup.
