Paul Newman was a regular visitor to Lime Rock Park from the 1970s all the way until the last year of his life, in 2008. He would pop up first at Tuesday Track Days and eventually on the leaderboard at Trans Am Championship races.
Lime Rock was, for all intents and purposes, his home track, and he left an indelible mark on the track’s legacy and reputation just as he did on film history!
As part of this Labor Day weekend’s ceremonies honoring Newman’s Lime Rock legacy, we’ll be screening WINNING: THE RACING LIFE OF PAUL NEWMAN with most of the event proceeds going to The Hole-in-the-Wall Gang Camp, a medical camp for seriously ill children founded by Newman in the late 1980s.

Relive Kevin Bacon’s star-making turn in FOOTLOOSE – our FREE Community Screening this Thursday, July 9th, generously sponsored by National Iron Bank
Footloose topped the box office upon its release in 1984 largely due to Bacon’s dynamic lead performance and his hard-earned, intensively acquired dance movies.
“I knew Herb Ross was a choreographer and came from a dance background,” Bacon told Dance Magazine in 1984, “but if you read the script all it actually says is that we go to a dance. It says nothing at all about choreography. All it says about what turns out to be my big solo number is that Ren drives along, parks his car, gets out, and dances. Little did I know…”
