🚨🦝 BREAKING NEWS FROM MEEKO’S WORLD 🦝🚨

We have been the victims of a very elaborate raccoon gender scandal. 😂

For MONTHS, we have been telling everyone that Meeko was a boy.

“He’s so sweet.”
“He’s getting so big!”
“Look what HE’S doing now!”

And apparently…

WE HAVE BEEN RAISING A GIRL. 🤦‍♀️🤣💀

Now before y’all come for us, we didn’t just randomly decide Meeko was a boy. 😂 We had people who actually have experience with raccoons tell us he was a he.

AND THEN WE ASKED GOOGLE AI.

Google AI said HE.

So obviously, we felt pretty confident about this.

Fast forward to Meeko getting bigger and developing some… more obvious raccoon anatomy. 👀🦝

And suddenly we’re like…

“Wait a damn minute.” 😂

After another look, we have officially come to the conclusion that MEeko is a SHE. 🎀

So apparently, all of us—including the artificial intelligence—have been wrong this entire time. 🤣

Please forgive us for accidentally giving this little girl a whole male identity. She has been out here living her best life completely unaware that Facebook thinks she’s a boy. 😂

So, allow us to formally introduce:

🎀 MISS MEEKO 🎀
🦝 Professional troublemaker
🦝 Snack thief
🦝 Curtain climber
🦝 Destroyer of household objects
🦝 Apparently a GIRL

And yes… we are going to have to retrain ourselves to stop saying “he.” 😂

If you see an old post where we called her “he,” just pretend you didn’t. We were misled by professionals and artificial intelligence. 🤣🤣

We constantly get comments on how sweet Meeko is. And she is most of the time. But as we've said before raccoons have a lot of energy! We thought we'd share this video of raccoon ZOOMIES in the truck 🤣. Raccoons are going to play rough. It's their instinct. If you plan on keeping one as a pet you have to be prepared and expect this type of behavior. We don't mind, we wouldn't trade Meeko for the world. We love getting to experience her growth and be a part of her family!

Sometimes Meeko sleeps with his eyes open. According to Google it's estimated that 10-20% of young kits do this during REM sleep after an energy rush. During this sleep his inner eyelid is closed which filters out all light and keeps his eyes from drying out.
