UPDATE... 1RC.. Joshua Roberts has taken on the project to build us a super cool 1RC track!! We should have it up in 2-3 weeks!!
DIRT OVAL... David has ordered all the parts for the Backhoe as soon as it is fixed (maybe a week) we can start building the Dirt Oval.
We hope to have them both up and going within 3 to 4 weeks!!

Hello Racers, Update... For the 1RC we are still waiting on Concrete. Our Backhoe was broken for a couple months and we finally found the issue and have ordered the part. As soon as David gets it back up and going we will start building the Dirt Oval again. So I am hoping in the next couple of weeks we will be back up and going!
Side note the rain has been killing us. The Off road has gotten to run like maybe 2 times. Hoping for better days!

I have seen a couple people ask about the dirt Oval. We are working with the contractor to install the 1RC Track and get it up and going. After that, we will look into the Dirt Oval track. It may be another month before we can tell you an honest time frame.

With the popularity of the 1RC RTR cars growing, Callahan RC Raceway has decided to add an outdoor concrete 1RC track to our facility. As we relocate our RC tracks, adding the 1RC track will be quite easy and should be up and running while we work through the details of the dirt oval.
We feel these new classes (LM, EDM, Sprint, Midget) of racing will be a great addition to our RC offerings and a great entry point for new racers to join our hobby.

Hi racers. Sorry to give you bad news. Because of the amount of rain we received at the track last night, and the amount rain expected over night tonight, we are going to cancel for Sunday. We are doing our best to get you on the track, but mother nature has other plans. The parking area is already very wet and is going to get worse. See you on 4/2.

Sunday's practice is canceled. Racing on tomorrow the 15th on the oval still looks good!
Unfortunately we will be cancelling Sunday's practice. Sunday's forecast looks terrible but is still looking good for tomorrow's oval race and Newberry race. Good luck to everyone racing tomorrow and our friends at SIC. -John

The weather is looking great this week. Let’s do another practice day next Sunday the 2nd. Gates will open at 9am, if the track is ready we’ll start a little earlier and will open the tracks from 9:30-3pm, just $10 per driver. -John

TJ Newton and Callahan Speedway have come together to introduce the 1st annual "Callahan Motorsports Expo". If you are interested in anything racing we will have everything from RC Cars to Go-Karts, Motorcycles, Outlaw Mini Sprints, Jr Dragsters, Monster Truck, Mud Trucks, Drag Cars, and much more.
This will be a 2-day event at Callahan Speedway.

Hello, Racers. So I made a really bad decision to cancel the race last weekend due to the weather. Going forward I will just let Mother Nature make that call.
We would like to race this Saturday, John Bernard has offered to announce the race for us. Wally's work schedule is really heavy right now.
I will open the Concession Stand !!
Once again I am sorry about last weekend and hope you all will join us this Saturday.

Racers, I did my best but Mother Nature has won again. We are canceling tomorrow’s race but the owners want to try again next weekend and I’m game. We will go back to the Friday practice (July 2nd) and Saturday race (July 3rd) plan. Plus you’ll be in a great spot to watch the Callahan Fairgrounds fireworks show Saturday evening.

It's almost time to get the new oval built, it's gonna be a goodun! This is your chance to tell us some things that are lacking currently and some ideas about going forward to make our racing experience the best it can be.
We have been running on a 185' run line with approximately 10' wide lanes. Thoughts?
There is a lot of talk recently about a 17.5 sprint and late model class. This would tentatively be open chassis, open tire, blinky speedo, ROAR 17.5 Motor, not sure we need a battery rule but keep in mind this is a spec class as an alternative to open mod. Thoughts?
On race day if you are entered in a mod sprint class you will not be able to sign up for 17.5 sprint but you would be able to run 17.5 LM

It's that time again! Saturday is race day. I dunno about y'all but I'm ready to run around in circles again as it's been a month. Because we have had so much wonderful weather the track is gonna take a lot of work to get it prepped for a good day of racing. I don't want to have to blow it off after every race this time. I don't have a way to put up a poll so I'm just gonna ask, who is planning on coming out Saturday to race?

Last Sunday the 2wd latemodels were pulling the left front wheels 2 inches off the track out of the corners. Very smooth and fast track. The 1st Annual Spring Fling is in books. I have a lot of people to thank for the way things went this weekend. First off, Lisa and David Hicken. They provide a great facility for everyone to race their RC cars and have wonderful time.
What can I say about John Bernard? He offered to announce the races all three days so that I was able to put more focus on my racing, which does not often happen for me. His efforts, along with David's made the track incredible. The track was flawless all weekend.
Sean Larmond, of Jax RC Recycle and Repair was there all three days, keeping racers supplied with tires, batteries, parts and anything else they needed. He also served as our technical inspector all weekend.
I want to thank you, the racers, for being as patient as possible regarding the scoring issues during Friday night's heats. I'm glad we got it resolved so that the mains and the rest of the weekend went off without a hitch. I also want to thank the racers, who came from out of the area, including folks coming from Indiana to join us. And of course a shoutout to our local regulars that supported their home track.
Earl Bersamin did an incredible job, designing the flyer and the grand championship plaques. That is some next level talent.
Finally, a huge thank you to our sponsors. Every racer on Sunday was able to come away with some really great prizes.
