🔥 By Popular Demand – Burn-Out & Launch Day Returns! 🔥

After receiving countless messages, comments, and texts asking for another event, we listened! Join us on Saturday, June 20th, for another exciting Burn-Out & Launch Day at HickenPower Drag Strip.

We are currently working to have our timing and scoring system operational. If everything is ready in time, we will be awarding additional trophies for:

🏆 Best Reaction Time
🏆 Best 60-Foot Time

Additional trophy categories will include:

🏆 People's Choice
🏆 Best Smoke Show
🏆 Best on Two Wheels
🏆 Clapped-Out King
🏆 Tough Luck Award

We will provide an update as the event approaches regarding the status of the timing and scoring system.

Tech Department Requirements

For the safety of all participants:

✔ Long pants are required
✔ Closed-toe shoes are required
✔ Seat belts are required
✔ Any purpose-built race car equipped with a roll cage must have a helmet worn by the driver

All vehicles will be inspected by our Tech Department prior to participation. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to complete the tech inspection process.

WOW... What an incredible day at HickenPower Drag Strip!

We want to send a huge THANK YOU to every driver, spectator, family member, friend, and supporter who came out to our very first Burnout Day. The turnout exceeded our expectations, but what meant even more to us were all of the positive comments, encouraging words, and support we received throughout the day.

Seeing everyone having fun, smiling, and enjoying the facility reminds us exactly why we're working so hard to build something special here in Callahan. We are truly grateful for every person who came through our gates and helped make this event such a success.

A special thank you goes out to our amazing staff. When the concession stand got absolutely packed, they stepped up and handled the rush with professionalism, patience, and a positive attitude. From admissions and concessions to staging and everyone working behind the scenes, your hard work did not go unnoticed. We couldn't do this without you.

David and I are incredibly thankful for the support this community has shown us as we continue building HickenPower Drag Strip and growing Callahan Speedway.

This is just the beginning!

Stay tuned because we're already planning another Burnout Day for the weekend of June 20th, and we can't wait to see everyone back at the track.

I just wanted to give a little update on how things are going.
We have a very aggressive Contractor and this team is making things happen.
I know the BIG question is… So when will it be ready? We are hoping End of March!
That is how fast things are moving.
I have another post about the opportunity of Reserved parking for the year, As soon as we get the parking grid done we will be back in touch!

These pictures probably won’t justify how long this new pond is but, it is a good length of the Strip. They will shape it a little more and lay sod next week! I will take better pictures next week when the sod is layed.
