As we near the end of Mental Health Awareness month, I just wanted to post this reminder from page 91 of my book, Superbloom 📖🌼
There are many times that I've wished I could fast forward in my life - whether it was so I could be older, so I could skip what I was feeing or move past what I was going through at the time. But it's true as the saying goes, we do “grow through what we go through." I read a quote recently that it's not that bad things happen to good people, bad things happen to everyone and how some people handle it is what makes them good. I believe that. You can turn your hard times into harder times and lash out at others - or you can turn your pain into power, even into poetry. Turn your learned lessons into advice and wisdom. Turn lemons into lemonade. That phrase seemed so silly when I was a kid, but now I understand it. There are times I have considered becoming a hard person, and I might have a harder shell than I used to, but I'm still soft underneath and that side of me is there for the people I do decide to let in. I have more boundaries than I used to and rightfully so, but a part of me will always be that little girl who just wants to spread goodness in the world. Even in my saddest times, a part of me has always found something to be happy about or grateful for. And I firmly believe that's what helped me grow vs allowing my soul to wilt and become dark.
For anyone going through a rough time or feeling lost, just remember: it takes time. Don't give up. Keep going. And one day, you'll look back and be so proud of yourself. I promise🫶
Superbloom is available on Amazon now though the link in my bio 📖🌟
