I’m very happy to share that my new album, Home, is now streaming.
This year marks 50 years (!!!) since the release of my first record, In Search of the Turtle’s Navel, and the beginning of Windham Hill Records. I can hardly believe that, half a century later, I’m still making music and marking the anniversary with a new album.
None of it would have been possible without Tom Eaton's brilliant heart and ears making it happen.
These pieces are rooted in the landscape around our home in Vermont and in the people, places and memories that have shaped my life here these many years.
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing a little of the story behind each piece. Physical CDs are in the works and should be available late September.

Submissions for A Winter’s Solstice Celebration have officially closed, and the response from artists has been extraordinary (and a bit overwhelming.) Dawn, Bob and I now have the wonderful and difficult task of choosing the music that will come together to create the album. We hope to share the final track selection by the end of August, so stay tuned... Will

Our friend Todd Johnston generously donated his beautiful custom Oracle Guitar to help support our Kickstarter campaign to resounding success. Then it turned out that Raffle winner Eric Sundberg just happened to live an hour north of us in VT!
Next, Todd went above and BEYOND, escorting the guitar from PA to VT to personally hand it off to Eric. We had a lot of laughs and got to meet some lovely new people.
Thanks to everyone for supporting this campaign!
We've also welcomed a handful of new supporters through Kickstarter's Late Pledges feature. If you missed the campaign, there's still time to join us.

Here's another of this years releases, "Bridges" from Daniel Treviño. Daniel flew up from Mexico to record this wonderful piano album with Tom Eaton and Will Ackerman producing. "Though Daniel pursued an engineering degree and built a career in technology, music never left him. It lived quietly alongside his professional life, like an ember waiting for oxygen.."-Shambhu.
Please give it a listen here:

Our dear friend Phil Aaberg, whom many of you know well, has been hospitalized in the ICU with pneumonia in both lungs and other complications related to his chemo that he has been undergoing for prostate cancer. His family is close by his side as we all pray for his recovery.
"Phil is one of the dearest friends in my life. I admire him as a staggeringly talented pianist and composer, but his kindness and humor as a friend and human being is even more precious to me." -Will
His wife Patty, said, "So many people have asked how they can help. Please send good healing thoughts, light a candle and play his music. Feel free to send along any comments - we will read to those him when he is no longer under sedation. They really lift his spirits. "
His son Jake created a gofundme to support them as they had to essentially move to Minneapolis for his cancer treatments.
Please post comments to Phil on his page:

And if you would like to donate to the gofundme, it's here below:

From Echoes: Today we’re celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Windham Hill Records. Founder and guitarist Will Ackerman released his solo debut album in 1976 and it launched a different kind of American Revolution in that bicentennial year. A Quiet One. This first hour of Echoes is going to be all music from mostly the classic era of Windham Hill. And we’ll hear an interview with Will Ackerman talking about the genesis of this revolution. Join John Diliberto celebrating 50 years of WIndham Hill on Echoes from PRX.
