Finally have Gold Rush wrapped up and getting caught up online. We wanted to share a few things with you for the coming months.

Our October meeting will be on October 10. This will be a normal potluck meeting. We will be having our 7th Annual Marvin Heinberger Crockpot Cook-Off (event just posted) at the potluck. Also, candy and pumpkins will be distributed to kids that attend the event for Halloween! To wrap it up, there will be a costume contest with 3 categories: Adult (Keep it family friendly), Youth, and Pet. Awards will be issued for the Adult and Youth. A gift card will be ordered for the winner of the pet category.

Also, we will be bringing in a couple yards of material to hold a common dig for those in attendance. One last "Hurrah" if you will before winter sets in.

I (Shawn) cannot make the October meeting. it is impossible for me to move my schedule around on that date. Also, the week before is the LDMA Dirt Digger Party at Vein Mtn. Some of our members and officers will be attending that event and staying the duration of the week. Since I have to run our yearly elections and cannot be there, we have slid our officer elections to our November meeting. Due to this, there will be no new business discussed or voted on at the October meet. Only old business and our above outlined sub events that day.

As for November, your officers wanted to say Thank You for a great season by preparing a Members Appreciation Dinner for you instead of a potluck at the November meeting. The menu will consist of Pulled Pork, Mac n Cheese, Baked Beans, Coleslaw, Dessert, and other added sides. There will be a registration posted soon for that event. PLEASE fill out that registration when we post it so we can prepare to serve you.

Also, Jack and Donna from "Up The Creek" will be joining us at our November meeting. They will have gold for sale at the meeting so be sure to hit them up! Always great when they come to visit!

On Friday, the Buckeye Chapter played host to Clearfork High School classes and students. They came on Thursday to record water speed, levels, and took samples. On Friday, our volunteers presented to them prospecting and geology in Ohio. Just a few photos of the days. Thanks to everyone who helped make this visit a success! FINALLY have a minute to sit down and upload some photos from the weekend. Just a quick THANK YOU to everyone who helped with Gold Rush this year. It takes an army of people to put on an event of this size. Every one of you are truly appreciated.
