A long overdue hello from Minkus 💚

As many of you know, I am writing book #2 of my Minkus series! It's called "The Misadventures of Minkus the Mage: Wizards & Webs." Also as many of you know, I write, illustrate, edit, map and publish my own books. This requires a tremendous amount of time, money, and creativity. In the midst of writing the second book, I have come to a halt with illustrations. A complete creative "block." Obviously, this isn't ideal. However, if I learned anything from Minkus and Strange, it's that I can do hard things! And I did just that..

Today, for the first time since July of 2024, I made my very first Minkus drawing. Is it perfect? Absolutely not, but I am still going to post it here because art isn't about being perfect, it's about creating something you love.

I appreciate and recognize that all of you have been so patient with me and my second book. Minkus, Strange and I are forever grateful for the tight fan base we have. I won't let you down, book two is coming. When? I'm not entirely sure, because currently I am building a new art studio in my home to help with the creative block! It's so exciting 😊

The point of this entire post is to let you know that after 110 days of not posting, I am still working and waiting and getting things in line for Wizards & Webs! A great big THANK YOU to you all who have been asking how I am and reaching out to me to help me through a rough patch. I love you all, and I'm so happy to write this:

Come see Minkus the Mage at the Butler Fall Festival this Saturday from 11-6 in downtown Butler on Main Street 🐸🌈 The author & illustrator, Lindsey Gifford, will be selling and signing copies of the book “The Misadventures of Minkus the Mage” which is the first book of her 7 part series!

“Minkus was a boring, ordinary, and sad frog. On his way to his boring and sad accounting job, he found a hat on the ground. This was no ordinary hat, but a magical hat that gave Minkus powers! His newly discovered magic allows him to perform his very first spell. This spell brings him the thing he has wanted most: friendship. The Misadventures of Minkus the Mage, by Lindsey Gifford, is a daring misadventure of a sad, boring and ordinary frog accountant turned mage when he finds a hat that grants him magical powers! Minkus uses his new hat to conjure his first spell: a spell of friendship ✨ Minkus and Strange begin their misadventures in book 1, and book 2 is in the works! 🔮

Lindsey Gifford wrote, edited, illustrated, published and released The Misadventures of Minkus the Mage. It is the very first book she’s ever written, and she plans to make 7 books total for this series. Her love of Dungeons & Dragons came together with her love of the drawings she would make for her daughter’s lunchbox everyday, and now she has created the enchanting world of Minkus the Mage to share with all of you!

The Misadventures of Minkus the Mage is loved by many! Kids from all over have been sending in fan art, and even cosplaying as Minkus at local Renaissance Festivals! Don’t miss out on all the magic!

We have a cosplayer!!!! Minkus goes to REN FAIRE!! Look at this cutie out here in full Minkus mode 🥲 In my wildest dreams, I couldn’t imagine people being so excited about my characters, and to see this fills my heart with so much joy 🥹 there is literally no higher honor. Be Unfroggetable 🐸🌈

A big overdue HOWDY to all of you Minkus fans, and a BIG UPDATE 🐸🌈

I am SO excited to announce that book 2 is in progress, and it officially has a NAME!

The Misadventures of Minkus the Mage: Wizards and Webs

Now you might think to yourself 🧐: “Lindsey, what is Wizards and Webs?” Well I’d love to tell you! I am developing and creating an Enchanted Forest original CARD GAME that will directly come from book 2 called “Wizards and Webs!” The book will even have the instructions on how you can play at home in the back 🥰🌈

I will be creating and sharing some of my progress on here so everyone can see the process of not only writing & illustrating, but also making an entire card game ourselves! So stay tuned to find out what we have come up with next 🎉🥳
