Good morning, SSHS Families,
Here is a glance at what the week looks like for our Raider Band. We will do our best to send this out on Monday Mornings. If you have questions, feel free to email Mr. Hojilla or message him on ParentSquare. You can also follow our Social Media on Instagram and SSHS Band Boosters on Facebook. We have a lot of events this week. Tuesday will be a normal rehearsal day. But we also need volunteers at the concession stand. Our band parent meeting will be at the tables next to the band concession stand starting at 6:30 pm. The photographer from enchanted light will be there to answer any questions you might have about our band photos this year. Thursdays rehearsal will run as a game day. We’re gonna play for the 6U championships for Pop Warner. We will run a short rehearsal after school. And then call time will be 5:30. We also need parents for the concession stand on Thursday. Friday we will rehearse after school from 4:30 to 7:30 since we missed last week’s rehearsal on Tuesday. Saturday is the fall festival parade and we are setting up a booth and need help running that. Call time for the parade is 7AM and line up starts at 8am.

Rehearsal on 10/6 has been canceled due to open house, but a few students have graciously volunteered to assist with the band and color guard booth in the cafeteria! We have an away game on 10/9; if you are registered as a volunteer, we're always looking for more chaperones. The bus leaves at 5:30! Oct 10th is a Pop Warner game, and you do not need to be a registered volunteer to come help! These events raise most of our funds and keep us from having to charge a band fee. If you can spare a few hours, we'd greatly appreciate it. You can sign up using the QR code below! Reminder for students: report to the band room when you get to the school to put away uniforms! Lions Pride performance

Our SSHS Raider Marching Band and Color Guard placed 3rd in our division yesterday at the Lions Pride Marching Competition. Congratulations to everyone who has worked so hard getting them where they are, and to the kids who have been putting in so much time and effort. You guys rock!

RESCHEDULED: Our monthly parent meeting, originally scheduled for 10/6/26 has been rescheduled to Tuesday, 10/13/26, due to Open House. There will be a presentation at this meeting by our new band photographer, so please attend so you can ask him any questions you may have. The parent meeting is 10/13/26 at 6:30pm in the band room, or next door in Ms Hooten's room if needed. Thank you

Good morning, SSHS Families,
Here is a glance at what the week looks like for our Raider Band. We will do our best to send this out on Monday Mornings. There are many opportunities to volunteer. These help fund most of our school year, so we don’t have to charge a band fee. Please remind your students to stop by the band room to put their uniform bags away when they arrive at school! We also have a Pop Warner game this Saturday from 7:30 am to 4 pm; we greatly appreciate all help! You do not need to be an approved volunteer to help with Pop Warner! Even just a few hours of your time will go a long way!
We also have an away game this Friday and our first marching competition this Saturday! ​

1:40 pm Staff supervise unloading (nobody plays until we get to warmup!)

3 pm Transition to Performance area

3:15 Perform

3:45 Load Trailer (NOBODY PLAYS ANYTHING UNTIL WE GET BACK TO SSHS)

4:15 Watch other bands (students may go to concessions with their buddies; they must stay in a group of 2 or greater unless with a chaperone)

8:30 pm EVERYONE BACK IN THEIR SPOTS FOR AWARDS

9:30 Awards

10 pm Load bus and go home

11 pm Arrive at SSHS

There are a lot of opportunities for people to volunteer. We have our home game vs. Eustis this Friday at 7:30 pm. These are what help raise the majority of our funds for the school year, which prevents us from having to charge a band fee. Please remind your students to come by the band room to put uniforms away when they get to the school!

There are a lot of opportunities for people to volunteer. We have a home game this Friday at 7:30 pm. Since there is no school on this day, call time will be 5 pm in the band room. These are the events that help raise the majority of our funds for the school year, which prevents us from having to charge a band fee. The band should report to the band room Monday morning to put their uniforms away. We also have a few more events for the next couple of weeks. We will be hosting the SSMS Raider Band and Color Guard students for middle school night next week at our home game against Leesburg, and the following week we are inviting any Alumni to come perform with us in the stands for homecoming! Alumni who want to play with us in the stands must register by 9/21 so we have time to prepare any instruments that need to be borrowed.
