Had fun designing and framing this rare Primus poster created by the amazingly talented Portland, Oregon artist, EMEK Emek Studios
Scott Scott Dubois wanted the poster to really pop, with its unique postage stamp edges and holographic foil finish, which makes the poster appear to change colors as the light hits it from different angles.
We tried all kinds of combinations, but in the end, decided that “less is more” and settled on a gold frame with white outside and inside edges from Larson-Juhl , purple and saffron matting from Crescent Brands 🌙 , and Museum glass®️ by Tru Vue®
If you’ve never tried museum glass before, see what a difference it makes when you frame something with depth. It almost appears invisible. In addition to its amazing clarity, it protects your art investment by blocking 99% of harmful UV rays.
The poster was hinge mounted to float above the background on a layer of acid-free foamboard, and the matting was elevated as well. One thin line of matting was mounted to the background black matting that the poster is mounted to, to give it more depth.
I had no idea at the time, but when I texted Scott to let him know it was ready and that he could pick it up, he said he was at the PRIMUS show at Albany Med Health System at S**C
Good timing!
