We all owe a little to the BStreet band for starting the tribute genre!
43 Years ago today a new era of coverband music began called the tribute band Backstreets (now the B-Street Band) doing a tribute to Bruce Springsteen performed their first gig. Tens of thousands of tribute bands all over the world follow our lead and have come and gone since that time. God bless the musicans and fans who helped make this possible including the ones who have retired or are no longer here on earth and Kudos to all the tech crews that were part of the Band. Nearly 2000 fans attended on that date May 25 1980 at the Club "Park Place" on ocean ave in Asbury Park
What we all did not know was how the success of this wonderful night would shape the music scene for decades to come and still till this day. Thank you to all past and present fans who have enjoy the music and made possible all this possible
There was an invitation to see a band do a night of music of a local legend on Thur May 25th 1980 There was no guarantee anyone would show up but Nearly 2000 music fans entered that venue to judge for themselves, It was a great night and hopefully always be remembered as a breakout event for the enjoyment it would bring to so many for decades to come.
