𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺!

Grace Matson (Choreographer): The Lightning Thief has been a fun choreographic adventure because of the variety of styles I’ve gotten to experiment with. We have contemporary, 70s disco, stage combat, and more, all packed into these two hours. But most of all, these characters and their story have stolen my heart, and I think you might find the same thing happens to you. Come for the singing and dancing, but stay for the story of people trying to find their place in this sometimes scary world; they might be demigods, but they really aren’t so different from you and me.

Roz Cook (Music Director): This show is one big, exciting musical extravaganza and was a big project to tackle. The music incorporates a lot of heavy, driving hard-rock along with a touch of country and a couple of sentimental ballads. At times, several of the pieces are being sung simultaneously, which presents the cast with BIG musical challenges. The cast has really risen to the occasion! The music tells the striking and funky story (half-blood children of the Greek gods meeting at camp and finding their way), and yet has a message that is very relevant today. Come see, listen, and enjoy the talented cast make this one their own!

Elizabeth Lavallee (The Oracle): This is my first time working with Nativity Players, and I’ve been having so much fun letting my spookiness loose as the Oracle and as one of the Furies. The whole cast is full of talented individuals with big personalities that fill the show to the brim with color and life. If you love Percy Jackson, fun musicals, OR big adventures with high stakes, this show is definitely for you!

Molly H. (Mrs. Dodds): I’m so thrilled to be part of this incredible show! The talent and energy of the cast and crew blows me away, and we’ve had a blast putting this show together. 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁!

Elias Gannage (Poseidon): I'm thrilled to be performing as the renowned "absentee dad" alongside such a spirited and talented cast. It's a new experience playing a character whose main trait is that he's not around. His influence is readily apparent throughout the show, but his "hang loose" beach vibes do not really appear in person until he believes Percy is ready. This means I get to be the cheerleader backstage as all these awesome actors and actresses put on a fantastic show.

Laura Leftwich (Sally): Hello! I am making my Nativity Players debut as Sally, Percy’s mother. I told Kimberly I was thrilled when she gave me the call and said I was Sally, and I still am! I love the message that Lightning Thief gives to us all: “The things that make you different, are the very things that make you strong.” Many of us have something about ourselves that if we could change, we would. But if you keep your mind open, you’ll find that that “weakness” could be your strength! I have enjoyed the welcoming spirit of Nativity and love when the Fine Arts bring joy to others and glory to God. I consider it one of His finest gifts. I am blown away by the talent of this cast! I hope you will consider seeing our show!

Ben Eckman (Smelly Gabe): "Where's my bean dip?" is the key question of the show. It really represents the deeper questions of life and mysteries we all struggle with. I think this is what's at the heart of the Percy Jackson musical. The amazing cast and crew bring this musical to life and help us all to find our inner bean dip and deepen our faith. Come and see.

Greg LaNave (Chiron): One of the things I enjoy about this show is all the moments that give different members of the cast a chance to shine: not only choice roles like the Oracle, Poseidon, Smelly Gabe, etc., but parts like the squirrel, the farmer, the newscaster, Michael Jackson. . . . My own role of Chiron is a rich one: the wise old mentor that nobody really listens to. Typecast? Perhaps---but then there’s the bit about my being a horse. Nativity’s production is going to be DYNAMITE, with energetic music and pacing (the show *moves*) and great comedy, all while telling a heartfelt tale about the evolution of a hero. Come and enjoy!

Lisa Arnold (Grover): This show has been such a unique experience. This is my first show with Nativity Players and I found myself being welcomed with open arms. Every day I come to rehearsal and am surrounded by talent and positivity. The energy in rehearsals always has a way of making me smile. It is so clear everyone in this show is so passionate about telling this story and supporting one another! I loved getting to take on the role of the fun-loving, goofy best friend, Grover. Much like Grover, I feel like I’ve formed wonderful friendships with Alex and Isabel (Percy and Annabeth) and I feel like we’ve formed a dynamic that will be a lot of fun for the audience to experience!
